Letterman "Jokes" About Palin's Daughter (Voted into NOW Hall of Shame - Hell Freezes Over)

Letterman voted into NOW Hall of Shame: After two nights of "jokes" at the expense of Palin and her family, Letterman tried to explain himself and offer something of an apology. On his June 10 show, Letterman said he was referring to Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol -- not the 14-year-old daughter who actually accompanied Palin on her New York trip. Letterman said "I recognize that these are ugly" jokes. NOW agrees. Comedians in search of a laugh should really know better than to snicker about men having sex with teenage girls (or young women) less than half their age.
The sexualization of girls and women in the media is reaching new lows these days -- it is exploitative and has a negative effect on how all women and girls are perceived and how they view themselves. Letterman also joked about what he called Palin's "slutty flight attendant look" -- yet another example of how the media love to focus on a woman politician's appearance, especially as it relates to her sexual appeal to men. Someone of Letterman's stature, who appears on what used to be known as "the Tiffany Network" (CBS), should be above wallowing in the juvenile, sexist mud that other comedians and broadcasters seem to prefer.

NOW cares about the rights of women as much as Dave Letterman does.
Until they castigate Bill Clinton what they say is meaningless.
There's an ulterior motive for this, and it has nothing to do with caring about Sarah or Willow Palin.

At the very bottom of the Late Show with a-hole Letterman website, there is a "Feedback" link for commenting on any given program.
The screen that you'll see will look like this below. You apparently don't need to be a registered member of the site to send comments:

From NewsBusters.org, June 9, 2009...
Seven months after Election Day, and the attacks on Sarah Palin keep coming.
On Monday, CBS's David Letterman on the "Late Show" shamelessly went after the Alaska governor and her family during his opening monologue, as well as in his "Top Ten" list.
Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin's Trip To New York
10. Visited New York landmarks she normally only sees from Alaska
9. Laughed at all the crazy-looking foreigners entering the U.N.
8. Made moose jerky on Rachael Ray
7. Keyed Tina Fey's car
6. After a wink and a nod, ended up with a kilo of crack
5. Made coat out of New York City rat pelts
4. Sat in for Kelly Ripa. Regis couldn't tell the difference.
3. Finally met one of those Jewish people Mel Gibson's always talking about
2. Bought makeup from Bloomingdale's to update her "slutty flight attendant" look
1. Especially enjoyed not appearing on Letterman
"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez."

Hard to imagine, but great news! I never thought I’d say it, but thank you NOW!
For once, common sense and principles have overruled politics.

Wow, NOW was shamed into defending a conservative. In my world, NOW has no shame. This was a simple act to protect their constituency from realizing their political agenda. Dave's audience is NOWs constituency. NOW is upset with Dave for the exposure and acted out of pure political calculation. OR I could be completely wrong.

I was watching Limbaughs TV show when he did the Chelsea Clinton dog joke. It wasnt funny and it made me rather sour on the guy. Love his politics, love his leadership, love his talent, but that stupid joke cost him a lot of moral authority and not just with liberals.
Here's an explantion of what went down....
Frankens Rush/Chelsea lie . Regardless of how it appeared or was explained later....the one thing I remember (w/in the last several years) is that Rush apologized to Hillary Clinton, in person, for a slight/mistake that he felt was wrong. Until today, I had no idea what it was about. He manned up.
