Republicans call on wrestling champ Ric Flair Comments 2 | Recommend 3 Wednesday, Jun 10 2009, 12:30 pm Staff Reports KINGS MOUNTAIN - Wayne King, chairman of the 10th Congressional District Republican Party, announced that 16-time World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Ric Flair will be on hand at Thursday morning's District GOP fundraiser in Kings Mountain featuring former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Flair was a strong supporter of Governor Huckabee's presidential campaign last year and made several appearances on his behalf in North and South Carolina.
Ric Flair, known as "The Nature Boy" is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, having entertained fans since his pro debut in 1972. A resident of Charlotte, Flair is known for his signature interview style always ending with his trademark "Whoooo!" Throughout the 1980s and much of the 1990s, Flair, along with Tully Blanchard, and Arn & Ole Anderson thrilled fans as the "Four Horsemen." Just before retiring last year, Flair was inducted into World Wrestling Entertainment's Wrestling Hall of Fame. He remains active in the industry as a personality and promoter.
"We are thrilled to have a world-wide name in sports entertainment, Ric Flair, to introduce Governor Huckabee," commented King. "Like many in this region, I grew up watching Ric Flair and have always admired the fact that he always has time for his fans. His work on behalf of Republican candidates is well-known and we look forward to welcoming him on Thursday morning."
The breakfast, which is now sold-out, will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the H. Lawrence Patrick Senior Life & Conference Center located at 909 E. King St. in Kings Mountain. Nearly 400 attendees are expected.
Both of them. ;^)
We all have a sweet tooth!
bttt
If Flair supports Huckster that is just proof he’s had one too many shots to the head.
Which reminds me... from the primary...
Brother Hucks Travelin’ Salvation Show
Cold January night.......
And the propagandas hanging down
And conservatives on the ground feelin beat.
Move up the road to the outside of town
And the sound of that good liberal beat!
Sits a ragged governor
Where there aint no truth,
And that gospel group tellin you and me
Its Huck, Brother Huck,
say Brother Hucks Travelin’ Salvation Show!
Pack up anchor babies and grab the old ladies
And evryone cries
cause everyone knows Brother Hucks lies.
Halle- Hallelujah......
Starting soft and slow Like a small town hick
And when he lets go, Half the country’s sick!
Its Huck, Huck Love, say Brother Huck’s Travelin’ Salvation Show!
Take an old wrestler ,
a ‘B’ movie hustler And evryone goes,
cause everyone knows
Brother Hucks flam flam show.
Hallelujah!
“I helped pull Flair out of a crashed airplane in the 70’s in NC. Scratched and barely hurt, he was whining like a little kid. It took several minutes for him to sober up and realize he was alive.”
Is this the same plane wreck that Flair claims he broke his back in?
And I agreed. I do, however, watch it on a regular basis.
I call it my "Man soap opera". I try to figure out the plot lines at least a month ahead of time. ;^)
A also watch the UFC and WEC on a regular basis. Faber Brown 2 was a disapointment. I understood that when Faber broke his hand in the first round it was going to be a wash but I give him props for fighting on.
But, his pilot was an ass. He left Raleigh without refueling and ran out of gas, "landing" 1/2 mile short of the runway. Their lives were saved by southern yellow pines. They bend, but they don't break! The wings were still on the plane in the middle of a woods!
Thanks, WVKayaker, I always wondered how he performed after ‘breaking’ his back.
I beg to differ. It is athletic COREOGRAPHY, not fake. It is no more fake than a movie with a script.

ProWrestlers are good actors. The fights are pre-determined. Their activities are "choreographed".
You're right. It's no more fake than the movies...
