From the Free Republic blog commenters, courtesy of Balloon Juice:
What goes around comes around...
One less nazi as far as I am concerned.
This isn't good, boys and girls ... not good at all. This serial-killer piece of excrement will be held up by every abortionist and every lover of abortionists as the reason why the Secret Service needs to be assigned to guard every abortionist, every abortion mill and every lover of abortions in this country.

You just don't get it do you? Whatever your or my opinion about equivalences is, we will not be the only ones sitting as judge and jury, if street justice becomes the norm.
I don't think they are equivalent. So what? The person that gunned those recruiters down, did.
Street justice is NEVER the answer.
I’m going to step out and say that this incident was perpetrated by a Muslim prison convert. At the very least, it is related to Islam and was done in the name of “Allah”.
What I’m saying is, (in general) you won’t see individual leftists gun people down. The leftist/statist gains power for the very reason of using that government power to exterminate their ideological opponents. This is a deep, essential part of their ideology.
I think, though, that if you try to compare US servicemen to abortionists the "moral equivalence" falls apart in a hurry.
Do you think that justifies street justice? If you do, just be prepared to see someone you love judged and found wanting. Once street justice becomes the norm, all bets are off.
I see Andrew Sullivan is stealing comments from FreeRepublic.com again. But, you have to excerpt his comments. How’s that for being fair.
That is a really excellent point, FRiend.
Please read this post. Also know that I don’t think your post was worded quite as objectionably as the other poster’s was, so consider it toned down in accordance with your polite disagreement.

Tiller was unsavory. Roeder is, as far as I’m concerned, little if any better.
That said...after his behavior in the last presidential campaign, Andrew Sullivan is really not somebody I care to hear lectures from on civility in politics.
I'm not trying to be picky BUT AK is Alaska AR is Arkansas. Someone may not understand what you are talking about unless there has been a recruiter drive-by shooting in Alaska too.
We used to be. Now we're a nation of "feelings".
Those in charge can justify anything they do simply by saying "This is best for the country" or, "We need to do this to protect or help..."
The Federal Government no longer respects State Laws or sovereignty. Individual rights are ignored because of an order from above to sacrifice for the good of the collective. The Constitution may as well no longer exist in a nation where the President can make law and policy through executive order, while no one with authority stands to question it.
I am absolutely horrified at what this nation has become.
The murder yesterday and the murder today at the recruitment center should make every American tremble with fear in that it is only a matter of time before we have lost all respect for the law, for human rights, and for the sanctity of life.
We have lost our soul when we can see fit to justify cold, calculated murder.
Cherry picked statements much?
But we are saying there IS an absolute morality, regardless of what anyone thinks.
Don’t listen to them Nick.
They are FR otriches.
It is reprehensible that anyone would mention George Tiller's name with mentioning what he did for a living -- murdering fully-formed unborn children that are the equivalent of infants. And, in most cases, the life of the mother wasn't involved in his killings.
That doesn't justify the act that took his life. But, anyone with a conscious can't ignore his ghoulish occupation.
Do you know anyone that doesn't believe killing a fully-formed baby in the last trimester isn't an act of murder unless medical action is necessary to save the life of the mother?
You and I have a set of morals. If everyone would agree to them, we’d be sitting pretty. The sad truth is, the left has another set. To you and I their morals are disgusting. To them your and my morals are disgusting.
The framework for justice in this nation, is something we have to live by. We’re not going to be happy about some things, but opening up the door to Pandora’s Box is a terrible game plan.
I admit the moral equivalency test is shaky above. Perhaps that’s not the right way to address it. What we have going on here, is two sets of people determining what pure evil is.
We think the abortion doctor is pure evil.
The left thinks the recruiter is pure evil.
Both sides think they are justified here. I don’t think so, but how can I condone murder as a tool for us, and then deny murder as a tool for them?
It just doesn’t work like that.
You are right Lorianne - the comments ARE cherry picked. By the same token, however, those sorts of comments were hard to ignore. I refrained from commenting on the Tiller stories until earlier today for just that reason.
People were reacting and emoting rather than taking a deep breath and thinking about what they said.
That is a logical, and probably the correct, conclusion.
I doubt it.
Do you understand that there is a body of people out there who think these Army Recruiters were luring our youth into a death trap?
We see the abortionist as a killer. Others see the recruiters as facilitating the killing of our youth.
I recognize that we need a military, that can defend the United States, and destroy threats against it.
I think the people who hate our military recruiters are vile evil people.
When it comes to street justice, what I think doesn’t matter.
If I want abortions to end, I must take action to see that people are informed and policies are changed.
If they want recruiting to end, they must take action to see that people are informed and policies are changed.
We cannot resort to street justice. You live by street justice and you will die by it.
Street justice?
You must live in a gated community. Me, I live in the real world.
