While my mental capacities may not reach Sotomayorian levels, not having had the full richness of experience, I am quite sure the GOP will sit idly by while another tyrant is placed on the bench.

Yes.

Since 1996, the Republican party have gotten ever more liberal. Their solution at every election has been to move to the left and never move back. Even “W” turned out to be a Keynesian when it really mattered!
Conservatives have bent, begged, and pleaded long enough. I will not support Michael S. Steele with my money or my vote.
The RNC needs to wake the f..k up. I will not accept their incompetence and appeasement any longer.

of course they'll "fail"...
"They" don't stand for anything except the illusion of the two party system.
f#@k the lot of them. Souter was a real champ, waiting for Hopey-Change to get innaugerated. But then again the GOP wouldn't have the stones to go to the mat with a conservative, cause the democrat party would have pouted and then the FBI files would have come out.

“Will the GOP Leadership Fail on Sotomayor? “
No question. Guaranteed they will fail on this. In fact, they’re going to fail to be in power for a long time if they don’t get back to their conservative roots. What’s wrong with these people?
To: Scanian
The GOP is an empty shell.
We don’t need a third party. We need to fill the GOP with active conservatives. We’ll only be pushing the deadwood out of those leadership positions.
If we lead, they’ll follow. That’s all they know how to do. But we need good, solid articulate conservatives to do it.

Cornyn, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and the other weenies saying not to push too hard on this radical, racist feminazi are worse than pathetic.
The Republican Senators should be drawing the line in the sand on this one, for once making a clear distinction between themselves and the Evil Party, and getting ready for 2010. Instead, as all too often in the past they can’t pull themselves away from being the Stupid Party.
