Texas Woman Told to Remove 'Offensive' American Flag From Office
FoxNews ^ | May 29, 2009

What's offensive about the American flag? Some people don't like it but I'm not like that. It reminds me of the tens of thousands of people who have died so I can be free. If you live in the U.S. and display an American flag at your home or in your personal work space no one should tell you to take it down. Who would do that anyway? It would be shameful.

According to FoxNews, Kindred Hospital - Mansfield, TX would. A woman with her daughter deployed in Iraq was told to remove the American flag from her area because it offended someone. Don't know about you but I find the flag removal order offensive.

Isn’t Texas just actually leaving the rest of the USSA to become America again? If they do leave I guess they get the Flag, the documents, and DC.

Face it, the American Flag is about to become an underground revolutionary symbol.

Yeah, I remember when you and young Vito walked into that ritzy apartment, rolled up that Oriental carpet, and walked right out with it, even though a cop had been peering through the window just minutes before.
Gotta admit, it is assimiliation. No irony.

The more I hear about this, the more I want to get an American flag just to PO all my fellow politically correct Canuckistanis. A nice Betsy Ross would do, I’ve always liked those.

Thanks for all your comments. One poster asked if I had signed up just for this post. Yes, because it seemed very important to me. I put the same information on TownHall and also looked up VFW email addresses in the Texas area. Thought the veterans would like to know.

Through your posts we have learned that people visited the hospital with U.S. flags and the woman was allowed to put her flag back up. Thank God for this small victory.

I'll include a link to this discussion on TownHall.

Follow Up: From Kindred Hospital

We share your anger and hurt about the removal of the flag. It is very important to clarify that a misunderstanding has been communicated through the media. The supervisor that is described in the media is actually the co-worker of Ms. McLucas and not Ms. McLucas's immediate supervisor. The incident was two nursing supervisors who got into a dispute.

It was wrong and disrespectful and as soon as we learned about it, we took immediate action to correct the situation. The flag is now proudly displayed once again, and we apologize to all who were equally offended by this unpatriotic action, including the owner of the flag. We have reprimanded the employee and let them know we don't tolerate behavior inconsistent with our Company's values.
