President Barack Obama nominated Second Circuit appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor as his first nominee to the Supreme Court. Sotomayor, when she is confirmed, will become only the third woman and the first Hispanic to serve on the Court, replacing the retiring Justice David Souter. No word yet on the reaction from Pyongyang.
Pyongyang? Yes, Pyongyang. North Korea test fired not one, not two, not even three, but five new missiles yesterday and today in response to the United Nations Security Councils condemnation of its recent nuclear test. The two moves have sparked a new international nuclear crisis that has implications for Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. This is North Korea week in capitals around the globe from Tokyo, to Beijing, to Seoul, to London, Moscow, and even Tehran. But not in Washington. The Obama Administrations response is essentially to change the subject and distract media and public attention from the one thing it does not want to talk about, foreign policy.

then there’s always Biden - “Stand up, Joe!”
So...the Portuguese don't count?

Obama outsourced our foreign policy decisions regarding PRNK to the UN...
I am so glad they finally wrote a strongly worded letter to Kim Jong Il, maybe now their will be peace.
LOL,LOL,LOL....
We are so screwed.
I would say it does count in my book. Not by the leftists of course. And yet they consider Brazilians to be hispanic. They are just amking excused to consider the nomination historic.
I’m of Portuguese descent (along with a lot of other nationalities), and they won’t let us into the club.
I’m French and English.
I hate myself.
I am English, German, Scottish, and American Indian. I try to get myself drunk.
Always got to watch out for those dnagers!
People who came to the USA from Portugal are Portuguese. People who came to USA from Spain are Spanish. (According to the census people they are “White” or “Caucasian”.) People who came from Spain to any country (except Brasil) in the Americas including Puerto Rico, a part of the USA) but then came to the USA are “Hispanic”, which is a genre, not a race. If they didn’t come from Spain, but from Africa (as slaves) or were there already (Indians, as Columbus called them) or any combination of the aforementioned speaking Spanish, they’re “Hispanic”, as well. It’s all about racist pandering. It has nothing to do with reality. I am a native American because I was born in the USA, but I am not a Native American, another genre. (Note the caps.) The Nazis had their own genres, the foremost of which was “Aryan”, the others of which were “English” (and other western Europeans) and the the “untermenchen”, which included all the Jews, Slavs, etc. The racial rules of the Democrats of the 19th and 20th centuries (one drop of African blood and you’re a “Negro”, aka “Black”, and most recently “African American”) still apply, though. But wait, Cardoza practiced the race of Judaism...I mean the religion of Judaism...oh, it’s so hard to pigeonhole some people!
>I am English, German, Scottish, and American Indian.

Then Obama’s great, as he gives you a new reason to drink each day. ;)
Hahaha, well-done!
On paper, it seems the IRS came up with the rules for determining to which race one belongs.
Heap plenty.
My take exactly. He had this nomination in his pocket and pulled it out ahead of schedule to preempt a NK news cycle. So the answer to what happens when the phone rings at 3am is that Obama has removed the phone from his bedroom and locked the door. He’ll no more be troubled by a national security emergency than Hitler was by D-Day. Once he awakens on his own and and learns we lost a state he’ll just spin the good news of how this shows we CAN now meet his CO2 goals. And point out we still have 56 states left.
I didn’t hear much about Pelosi on the news today either.
which part? The part that has all the furniture in the bloody tower or the part that wants it back? LOL!!!!
