Much has been written about the Insight, Honda's new low-priced hybrid. So far, though, you have not been told what it's like as a car; as a tool for moving you, your friends and your things from place to place. So here it comes. It's terrible. Biblically terrible. It doesn't work. Acceleration is poor. And the sound is worse. So you're sitting there with the engine screaming its head off, and your ears bleeding, and you're doing only 23 mph and you're thinking things can't get any worse, and then they do because you run over a small piece of grit. There's more. Normally, Hondas feel as though they've been screwed together by eye surgeons. This model, however, feels as if it's been made from steel so thin, you could read through it. And the seats, finished in pleblon, are designed specifically, it seems, to ruin your skeleton.

The bottom line:
I ain’t dying because of for for Obama.
I thought this was about vehicles not presidential directives....
Hell, I’ll run over one of these environazi death traps in my Suburban and think it’s a speed bump. HEY, maybe there is a use for them afterall!
After the accident death rate goes out out sight, we will be forced into a “national speed limit”....say, 45mph should do it. Can’t be killing off those greenies, can we?
Just out of curiosity....I wonder what the insurance premiums are going to be on these death traps?
A lady in my church bought one of those blasted ‘Smart Cars’. It looks like an encased roller skate. The driver’s head is just more than a foot from the back. NO trunk. Unbelievable.
Depends on how much money you are willin g to spend. You can buy a "Tesla", for around $200,000,(and wait ten years for delivery) which gets a claimed 240 Km per charge, or shell out even more for some Europeon made all electric cars, with top speeds into the 340km range with 700hp electric motors.
Then there's a 2 cylinder "Nina" made in India for $2,500.00, which is what the CRAP GM, Crysler and Ford makes should sell for.
What's even more unbelievable is the price they want for 1/2 a car. $20,000 with a heater.
Yep. The good ol’ ‘Folk’s Wagon’.
Yep - but the Volkswagen wasn’t all that bad.
These new things? Bah! Humbug!
A couple of years ago I was at a gas station filling my car up and thought I heard what sounded like a lawn mower going down the street. Next thing I know “the sound” pulls up in a bay next to me to fill up also. It was a Yugo. To say it was a piece of crap is being charitable.
I was just watching highlights from the international auto show.
They do make some pretty good electrics and MPG cars, BUT, the prices are off the planet.
It's pretty clear that only the elite are going to be able to drive in the near future, which isn't suprizing. Why do you think rich holliwiedo's are all telling you to be "green" and conserve while they jet set and party?
It's so they can have more.
We are about to be introduced to a lot of junk like this.
I am told the Volt which is Chevy’s new hybrid needs a push to get over a hill. It isnt near ready for prodction, has to be plugged in, costs about $35,000 which is a tad more than most people want to spend o a vehicle that isnt proven when they can get a Prius for less and Toyota is probably way ahead on their second generation Prius.
Why is everybody being so mean?
That is one hellava golf cart if you ask me.
The volt is in production. And just wait till you get a load of it's little brother, the SPARK! HAHAHA! what a joke. It's in production as well, but only available in Europe this year.
