We are about to be introduced to a lot of junk like this.

I am told the Volt which is Chevy’s new hybrid needs a push to get over a hill. It isnt near ready for prodction, has to be plugged in, costs about $35,000 which is a tad more than most people want to spend o a vehicle that isnt proven when they can get a Prius for less and Toyota is probably way ahead on their second generation Prius.

The volt is in production. And just wait till you get a load of it's little brother, the SPARK! HAHAHA! what a joke. It's in production as well, but only available in Europe this year.

GM is also making a SUV hybrid and a light truck hybrid. They are all out this year (2010). They just reviewed them on driver TV today. (not very impressive)

Nah...the Volt is how Hybrids should be built. It’s designed to use electricity first then gas as needed. The drivetrain is designed around the electric motor so there’s no mixed drivetrain which causes awful acceleration.

Right, but what will those imports look like if they have to conform to American CAFE standards of 39 mpg? The American market is too big for them to ignore. This is likely because many of those models are assembled here and could be legally forced to comply. Don’t put anything past the liberals in Congress.
