WASHINGTON President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a preventive detention system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said.
The discussion, in a 90-minute meeting in the Cabinet Room that included Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and other top administration officials, came on the eve of a much-anticipated speech Mr. Obama is to give Thursday on a number of thorny national security matters, including his promise to close the detention center at the naval base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
Human rights advocates are growing deeply uneasy with Mr. Obamas stance on these issues, especially his recent move to block the release of photographs showing abuse of detainees, and his announcement that he is willing to try terrorism suspects in military commissions a concept he criticized bitterly as a presidential candidate.

You've got him pegged; Don't forget returning veterans, Ron Paul fans, and Christians...
Thanks for the link. This plan, in conjunction with the recent DHS document that was leaked ought to give strong evidence to Obama’s plan for those that disagree with his policy.
For the record, are all at Gitmo caught on the battlefield?
There seem to be some that were caught by others and turned over to the USA. They are at Gitmo rather than being brought to the mainland.
Yep. This is for us, folks.
Wow, your FReeper page is a wealth of info.

“Obama is a Nazi piece of dogsh*t for even considering this”
Obama was a Nazi piece of dogsh*t even before this. People don’t seem to recognize that the Nazis came to power as a left-wing party. They had a carismatic leader, and promised national health care, welfare, and redistribution of income from the evil corporations (which were run, in their opinion by the Jews). That’s why they called themselves the National Socalists.
People now think of th Nazis as having been right-wing, but this is not historically correct. The reason for the misconception is (I think) that the modern day skinheads and neo-nazis are, in fact right-wing. So in effect, the shinheads are another form of “useful idiots” because they provide the modern day Democrat National Socialists some political cover that they don’t deserve. Modern Democrats are today’s incarnation of Facists.
Why are you sorry? I am just joking.
They won't be able to hide. Its too late for that. Someone will turn them in to the "proper authorities" sooner or later. A neighbor, ex-wife or girlfriend, relative, co-worker. Hiding will just encourage the regime. It makes us look small and weak.
There is strenghth in numbers. They can't get us all at once, and that must be made clear before they try.
I'll continue flying the Gadsden Flag while waiting for the bastards.

“Es sind daher Beschränkungen der persönlichen Freiheit, des Rechts der freien Meinungsäußerung”
“Ummmmmm, yeah.”
I know I can get behind it.
Funny how DHS is willing to call American citizens terrorists but have changed the terminology for those from a certain religion from other countries who wish to attack the USA to a more pleasing, less offensive term.
See ya at the detention center!
I do not see anything in this article claiming that Obama is considering this in regard to United States citizens. There is nothing un-Constitutional about this as it pertains to foreign illegal enemy combatants engaged in waging war against the United States.
If this is used against U.S. citizens then it is un-Constitutional if it is used against non-U.S. citizens then it is not.
That is EXACTLY what they have in mind!
So, you’re saying Obama’s speech sounded better in the original German?
