France's First Lady said that the Church's teachings had left her feeling "profoundly secular". She departed from her post's traditional religious neutrality to accuse the Pope of "damaging" countries in Africa with his stance on birth control.

She is so stupid.
If Sarkozy had his first marrage annulled, then his second marriage would be recognized by the church as legit.
When Jacqueline Kennedy married Aristotle Onassis, a divorced man, if I recall correctly, Pope Paul VI denounced her and in effect called her a public sinner.
“When I hear about people saying that the Church needs to evolve, they are usually in a lifestyle that doesn’t agree with it. The Catholic church is not going to evolve to the point of accepting your lifestyle Miss Bruni, so stick it.”
Exactly! Actually, her slutty past constitutes adultery, whether she was married or not. The Church is quite strict on sexual relations outside of marriage. She can always repent and return, but until then don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Carla!
Good description. Sarkozy is basically the French version of Rudy Giuliani.
Funny. She sounds like the kind of thing you would put a condom on.
Didn't she leave her first husband, a much older man, for her own stepson?
Yes that is true.
However, I do not believe that is the case here.
Yikes!
I didn’t hear about that!If that’s true, than she is even worse than I thought.
While living with Jean-Paul Enthoven, Bruni fell in love and started an affair with his son, philosophy professor Raphaël Enthoven (the song "Raphäel" from Bruni's album Quelqu'un m'a dit is named after him), who was at the time married to novelist Justine Lévy, daughter of philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy.[17] Bruni later denied ever having an affair with Raphaël's father in an interview published in Vanity Fair, "I never slept with him, not even a minute."[3]
The affair and the ending of her marriage were inspiration for Justine's 2004 book Rien de Grave (published in English in 2005 as Nothing Serious). In it, she paints a vitriolic portrait of "Paula", the surgically-enhanced model who steals the protagonist's husband and describes her as "a preying mantis" and "a leech of a woman with a Terminator smile".[18]
Bruni and Raphaël had a son, Aurélien, in 2001. The couple broke up in May 2007 because Raphaël thought their relationship did not have a commitment, as she told Vanity Fair.
I'm afriad not. Their second marriage was not witness/approved by the Church, so they are in fact still living in sin, publicly.

We really care what a former fashion model says
________
Apparently we do when her name is Carrie Prejean.
Agreed. I was just presenting an ‘if’ scenario.
Carrie Prejean was asked by a hostile judge about an issue that had nothing to do with her business, which was that of being a beauty pageant contestant, and did not go around talking about random issues based on the fact that she was a beauty contestant (or, in the case of Carla, married to somebody important).
The only people who made Prejean’s statements either important or political were those in the media.
I see — thanks!
“The only people who made Prejeans statements either important or political were those in the media.”
Case in point: that dirty old goat Keith Olbermann. He obsessively covered the Ms. Prejan “story” as if it were as important as 9/11 coverage. His real agenda was secretly leering and lusting after the lovely Ms. Prejan. Keith Olbermann: What a transparent old perv.
Couldn't possibly be that they are screwing anything that moves, and then bringing aids back to their spouses, and eventually leaving their children orphans.
Nope, it's the Popes fault.
