WASHINGTON – Sen. Robert C. Byrd, 91 and the longest-serving senator in history, was hospitalized last Friday with a temperature spike evidently caused by a minor infection, his office announced Monday.

Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat, "is being treated with antibiotics, responding well and is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days," the office said in a statement.

Byrd has been in Congress since 1952 and was first elected to the Senate six years later.

I pray that Jesus will help and heal Sen. Byrd. I like Sen. Byrd because he is Pro Life. I also like the way he condemned vicious M. Vick for torturing dogs.

Being in a sucession does not provide for a “monkey move up” kind of structure. If Biden becomes President he’ll have to appoint his own VP like President Ford appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his VP when he moved up to President following Nixons resignation.

Funny, isn’t it, that they never hesitate to mention that he’s a democRat, but they never, ever mention his status as a former leader of the Ku Klux Klan.

If I run into him in the hereafter...well, first I’ll check the temperature and make sure we’re not in the bad place. Having determined we’re not in the bad place...if he’s okay with God, he’s okay with me.

(Note to Senator Byrd: I’m not saying this to be at all cruel or even partisan, but over the last several years, God appears to be have been telling you to retire. I suggest you might want to do so before God tells you “Bob, I meant it.”)

No infection is "minor" when you are 91 years old.

Immunity is diminishing at that age and the body just does not rebound.

That's why septis is the leading killer when you are hospitalized.

Yeah, I read back when Pres. Bush first got in as pres., and Sen. Byrd said that he would support Bush’s judges! He said he was personally socially conservative himself, and he thought conservative judges were much better about upholding the law! He supported him on other fronts as well. He could be a real pill when it came to supporting him on the war; I don’t know why, though!

If only there was some way to perhaps make those 535 animal farm health covered folks have to be covered by whatever they vote we should have. I mean, there are only 300,000,000 million of us and 535 of them. If one quarter of us boxers and clovers would just vote and do so responsibly, perhaps a difference could be made. But I guess last election showed us we are just a small few steps from the glue farm........... Napoleon has oinked.
