I would task you to look into the ways that dating is accomplished .... Not a cursory view but a true examination into the techniques .. that way we would have at least a starting point to continue any further discussion ... until then I might as well be discussing quantum physics with my cat. I told you that I do have a degree in Geology from UC Santa Cruz ... that curriculum includes LOTS of paleontology. If you want to discuss the topic it would be nice if you knew SOMETHING about it.

I almost went to UC Santa Cruz...that is until I paid that school a visit. I was given a tour by a bunch of tie-dyed dread-heads (with what looked like cow dung matted into their hair). And let’s not forget about your school’s wonderful mascot. No thanks! I shook the cow dung off my boots and (thankfully) selected UC Santa Barbara instead.

PS Quit posturing and state your case.

I majored in religious studies. I learned about world religions from a bunch of atheist morons who hated everything about religion, unless of course that religion was opposed to Judeo-Christianity (and the West)...those religions had the "ring of truth" or had "stumbled onto profound scientific insights" etc, etc.

I don’t know what to make of bikers these days. I see way to many of them sipping latte’s at Starbucks to know where they are coming from any more.

You mean my other super-duper top secret major? The one I never told anyone (not even my own mother) about?

Were you trying to be a religious studies major at UCSC ...

No self-respecting biker would be seen dead "sipping" a latte at Starbucks ... not in color. In any case ... I'm no hippy

No, when I went up there, I still wasn’t sure what I was going to major in.

It would have been hard as UCSC doesn’t have a religious studies program ... at least not on campus unless you wanted to study Rastafarianism 101

I also own a Master’s degree in administration, I studied in Israel for a while, and I have multiple professional credentials. I also served in the USMC back in the mid-1980s, and I raced motocross for years.

So are we done with the formalities? Do you have some sort of argument that falsifies biblical creation or not?

The links say they determined this with new, high tech sonar technology which gave them an unprecedented detailed look at the floor of the channel. Did Greenpeace take them to court for messing with the hearing of whales and dolphins?

At least I now know who I'm talking with.

As far as my arguing against young earth creationism, you have already been presented with reams of evidence by other posters against YEC which you have either ignored or couldn't understand. Any more argument on my part would be redundant and most likely unproductive as I am sure that ANYTHING that conflicts with your beliefs will be categorically dismissed. So why should I run that fools errand

As far as arguing about the actual age of the British Channel ... I would suggest that if you disagree with the scientific estimate ... you describe which part of the dating system you find suspect. Generalizations that "Scientists" make mistakes don't cut it. For the record, I believe in LONG TERM intelligent design and don't buy ANY of Archbishop Usshers' tripe.

Hey GG, I found another one of those Temple of Darwin fanatics on FR. Apparently he believes in a flat earth, feels a deep connection with the Taliban, has the largest collection of Darwin idols on the planet, and poors milk over each and every one of them three times a day while genuflect in the direction of the Galápagos Islands.

Anything else you want to throw in there, like the low-flush toilet conspiracy, the argument between two-stroke and four stroke lawn mowers, the sinister aspects of ley lines, or the inherent sabotage of pot-metal bottle openers?

Even if I agreed with you I'd tell you to shut up for sounding like an absolute lunatic, and disparaging anything valid you might have to say by linking it with your deranged spray-and-pray against virtually any other cultural or religious practice that doesn't fit in a pew in your church.

Or are you trying to pull off some sort of reverse-counter-anti-spin, so that the people who agree with you are horrified by you and then doubt what they thought they knew before you agreed with them in such an idiotic manner? If so, you must be a CIA shrink with a black budget to explore such inanity.

I don’t know what to make of bikers these days.

What tears me up is seeing some guy on a cruiser wearing full leathers, gloves and engineer's boots and what amounts to a soup bowl on his head. Right next to him will be some squid on a crotch rocket in a tee shirt, gym shorts and flip-flops with a $400 full-face helmet.

So if the first major event was Noah’s little weather disaster 4500 years ago then when did the second major event occur? Actual scientists are saying it happened 20,000 years ago. That kind of falls outside of your timeline, doesn’t it?
