Washington has never seen anything like Speaker Pelosi's ever-shifting tales of what she'd been told. Even Nixon didn't have this much trouble explaining what he knew and when he knew it.......if Pelosi knew waterboarding -- which she now sanctimoniously describes as illegal "torture" -- was on the CIA's list of Gitmo practices, why didn't she raise a ruckus at the time? ...... she says, she focused on "chang[ing] the leadership in Congress and the White House. That was my job." But now she seems to want anyone in the Bush admin who even uttered the word locked up. CIA Director Panetta said: "It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress......CIA officers briefed truthfully on 'the enhanced techniques that had been employed.' "

However, based on his performance during the Clinton administration, and his appearances and comments during the Bush Administration, I think that what Leon Panetta did was self-preservation.
As Director of the CIA, if he did not make a statement of that nature, the lifers on the CIA payroll would ensure that ANYTHING negative in the future would be linked back to Leon Panetta's failure as Director and a human being. He might as well change his name to George W. Cheney.

I think Obama’s crew is engineering Pelosi’s ouster, which is fine with me. She’s a power hungry female dog, and one of the world’s most disgusting human beings.
I expect to see the “they’re picking on the girl” stories very soon.

I get the feeling that the fix is in. Obama and maybe Hilary have been looking for an opportunity to take madam speaker down a few pegs.

Coming to America soon, first the internal purges. Obama will clean house on his own side before he comes after us. Pelosi is first then Reid. Once he has consolidated and centralized power he will come after us. He is going after Pelosi not because she is not on his side, it’s just that she thinks she is a co equal. To a Stalinist that is simply impossible. Our best strategy is to let Pelosi in place and let her wreak havoc on their side. She now knows she is in the headlights. There is nothing more dangerous than a woman who has figured out she is road kill and survives.
You're right. But that's actually good for the country. Her credibility is zero, so it will be hard for anyone to take her seriously when it comes to pushing for socialized medicine.
Her replacement would only be worse. I know, it's hard to imagine, but Obama could do it.
She is trying to use the left’s hatred of the CIA which may work. It is fun to watch them implode.

On Sept. 4, 2002, less than a year after 9/11, the CIA briefed Rep. Porter Goss, then House Intelligence Committee chairman, and Mrs. Pelosi, then the committee’s ranking Democrat, on EITs including water boarding. They were the first members of Congress to be informed.
So, who was the director of the CIA, from 9/11 to 2004?
George J. Tenet was the Director of CIA, from 1997–2004 .
Tenet was appointed by President Clinton and approved by Congress. Tenet then became the CIA director in August of 1997.
So, Pelosi is now saying that George Tenet lied to her or ordered his congressional briefers to lie to Nancy.
Aside from the normal level of mental illness it takes to be a liberal, I think Pelosi’s got a couple of screws loose.
