Panetta to CIA employees: We told Pelosi the truth
Politico ^ | Glenn Thrush

Posted on 05/15/2009 12:12:38 PM PDT by GOPinCa

CIA Director Leon Panetta just sent a stern message to his employees defending the agency against Speaker Nancy Pelosi's criticisms.

His message: We didn't mislead Congress; stay focused on your job.

Panetta's note was sent to reporters via the CIA press office. Here's the key graph:

"Let me be clear: It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress. That is against our laws and our values. As the Agency indicated previously in response to Congressional inquiries, our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, describing “the enhanced techniques that had been employed.” Ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened."

The full Panetta memo is after the jump.

Pelosi won’t resign. Leftists have no shame and the people of San Francisco would re-elect her if she grew fangs and fed off of the blood of children every night.

I can’t wait to see SNL this weekend !!

I hope it is not a rerun and will rip Piglosi a good one !!

I agree with those who believe Panetta would not have been so public with his rebuke of Piglosi without Obama’s consent. With that said, HER days are numbered as Speaker !! Hoyer is part of the play to get her out and his pay with be health care !!

GREAT "under the bus" toss by Panetta!

I'd score that a 9.8!

That was my first thought, but do you think he’s Obama’s choice?

It’s weird in a way. Leon talking about truth, and solid values to uphold. What an actor. Frigen clown. But he at least will help bring down the hag.

I'm still catching up. I've had family in all day and I'm still behind on this. I'll catch up in a little bit though.

I doubt she will ever resign but it is sure fun watching her squirm. Just think maybe Chindy Sheehan can take her place in 2010. lol

Wow...no doubt....She's definitely under the bus! I won't be surprised if the bus stops, backs over her, and then repeats the process two or three times!

I've been thinking about what you said the other day. You're right. While we might cheer and take some dark pleasure in witnessing Nancy Pelosi get stomped, there will be no good end to this for any of us.

"Let me be clear: It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress. That is against our laws and our values..."

No, you just mislead the Executive Branch.

And the Congress misleads the People.

Cheers!

Don’t lose heart. That’s what they were saying before one-termer Carter got tossed out.

Pelosi will resign by the end of June.

You mean she'll be forced to step down as speaker? I can see that. But always remember that the rats have no shame. She will be forced out for political expediency, not because she is a slovenly, dangerously incompetent skank.

Remember - - Republicans usually resign immediately when they are hit by scandal (former Speaker of the House Bob Livingston is a good example) because American citizens expect Republicans to be honest and clean. People feel disappointed and let down when a Republican falls.

On the other hand, when a rat gets hit by scandal it's no big deal because people EXPECT the rats to be liars, perverts, and pigs. They just shake their heads and chuckle when, for example, a Democrat like Barney Frank gets caught red-handed running a homosexual brothel from his Georgetown townhouse. Democrats re-elect him again and again.

And so, Nancy Pelosi may get forced out as Speaker, but she will never resign her seat. She will continue to get re-elected by the geniuses of San Fransicko forever.

I hope you are right. I just don’t think she would ever go willingly. They will have to drag her out kicking and screaming.

“Pelosi will resign by the end of June.”

I sincerely doubt this. She likes the power WAY too much.
