First, their oath is to the Constitution and second, this is a republic, not a democracy. The consideration of such an attack isn’t as much an insult as a re-affirmation of their oath.

So, Mr. Feherty, would you care to run for office — ANY office? Please?

Liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America demanded an apology for the remarks Friday.

"Mr. Feherty's violent comments about Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are disgusting," said Media Matters President Eric Burns.

A sports commentator does a little editorializing via off-color humor yet not a peep is made about the countless ugly, inappropriate statements made by Olberman, Matthews. et al over the years. Typical hypocrisy so glaringly evident from the left.

Uh-oh, I love Feherty, I hope he’s able to keep his job.

He was obviously using humor (this time not so subtle) to make his point. Like when he says of an errant shot into the woods that “Lassie wouldn’t be able to find that ball if it was wrapped with bacon”

Feherty and many PGA pros go and visit the troops overseas. Tour players and NASCAR drivers are the most conservative people in almost any profession and Feherty is one of the funniest writers and commentators anywhere.

I did read it, and took it as a (Keith Oberman type) slight to the troops which at the time seemed the same as the “disgruntled returning vets are potential right-wing extremist terrorists” report put out by DUh-bama’s own Janet Reno wannabe, which is why I thought he’d fit right in there.

After re-reading again this morning I still think the C-BS “commentator” should stick to golf.

I'd say a bit of perspective is in order for those who are criticizing Feherty. Here is a great piece he wrote for Golf Magazine about his USO tour with other golfers. Feherty's Tour of Duty .

It is obvious his admiration and respect for our troops and their mission. His dark humor "joke" in the D Magazine piece was a way of illustrating the disrespect that Pelosi and Reid have shown our troops and for their mission.
