Republicans Kick Off Campaign to Shine Party Image (RINO's Meet at VA Strip Mall Pizzeria)
CNN ^ | updated 1 hour, 40 minutes ago

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said it's time for Republicans "to listen a little bit, learn a little bit." He advised Republicans to work on the party's message and "not be so nostalgic."

"I would say you can't beat something with nothing. The other side has something. I don't like it, but they have it," said Bush, who praised President Obama's tactical approach to politics and commended his 2008 campaign as "forward-looking."

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney compared the GOP to Americans fighting the British during the Revolutionary War. "We are the party of the revolutionaries, they [Democrats] are the party of the monarchists," he told the overwhelmingly Republican crowd, saying the Republicans

The venue -- a packed pizzeria in an Arlington strip mall -- had the feel of a small-town campaign stop Saturday morning, with a supportive crowd tossing friendly questions at the panel. But outside the front doors of the establishment were reminders of the challenges facing the party.

The parking lot out front, even with the heavily Republican crowd inside, was dotted with Obama bumper stickers. Northern Virginia has shifted solidly Democratic in recent elections, and surrogates for John McCain's campaign made statements late in the race that acknowledged the party had all but conceded the area.

But the handful of peaceful protesters out front weren't Democrats -- they were conservatives upset over the new group's agenda and leadership. They brandished signs criticizing McCain, calling the NCNA "RINOs" -- Republicans in Name Only -- and urging them to push for stricter immigration enforcement.

McCain is prominently featured in materials for the new group. Health care, education and small business growth were all major topics of discussion Saturday -- but immigration was one entry on a long list of potentially divisive social issues that went unmentioned.

What a crazy family.

What an ass along with his Mexican wife.

He lost his first election for governor of Florida because of his liberal agenda. For one thing, he wanted to put mandatory Spanish in all the classrooms.

His wife got caught trying to sneak in several thousands of dollars worth of things through customs without declaring. She was flying in from Europe.

His crazy son is as left as they can get. He dreams of becoming president. Several years ago, this little idiot was in Mexico telling the Mexicans that not to worry about the boarder, etc. From where to you think he got that?

His crazy daughter is on drugs. I don’t know if she ever got herself clean.

What a great family.

Since they have not only included, but prominently featured, John McCain, this entire thing is stillborn.

They are really completely out of touch.

Whomever the GOP runs in ‘12...he/she is quite unlikely to win....the media has signed up for the duration of the Obama years.

Even Hitler did not have the kind of propaganda machine the Great One has. I don’t watch or listen much anymore...but every so often I tune in the “news” on NBC or CBS...you want a real hoot...? Try NPR! And of course there’s CNN.

Granted Fox goes right...and it helps point out how far left the rest of the media is.

Not a bad idea. It looks like they want to hold on to power, however diminished it may be, for themselves. They want to keep any usurpers out, just as they did with Reagan.

#1. Get rid of the notion of “moderates. If the Dems have “moderates” and we have “moderates,” what the hell if the differecne between the parties?
#2. Stand by a particular political philosophy. I’d suggest: pro-family, pro-marriage between one man and one woman; pro-life; low taxes, limited Federal government instrusion into our lives and freedom; pro sovereignty of each State; a rational approach to immigration guided by laws; upholding the constitution and the Bill of Rights, especially the 1st, 2nd and 10th amedments to the constitution.
#3 Enunciate this political philosophy very clearly and give people a choice.

This is no great mystery. We don’t need gimicks and games. We don’t need fancy polls. Stand for something and then try to convince people that they are better off espousing these principles. No more; no less.

Sigh...........

Yawn..........

Wake me up when someone (like Palin) gets it on a National level.

Hell, I’d settle for someone who gets it on a regional level at this point........

Dear Meghan and gang,

Tell us, dear RINO, exactly what should be the platform at the 2012 Republican convention?

No mention of tax cuts?
New spending programs?
Socialized medicine?
Spending cuts to the military?
No mention of abortion? Or pro-choice?
No mention of traditional male-female marriage? Or pro-gay marriage?
Legalized drugs?
Open borders? Or amnesty?

You RINOs obviously want us to act like Democrats on one or more of these issues. Tell us which ones. Lay out your liberal platform. Let the war begin.

The title says it all - they're worried about "image". What about "principles"?

Too much marketing, not enough product.

These guys just don’t get it. The people are pissed!! The TEA Party Rebellion doesn’t just apply to Democrats! It was the Republicans that inititated TARP under RINO George W. Bush and supported by RINOS John McCain, Graham, Collins, Snowe, Specter, et al!! At least Specter had the balls to fall on his sword. Well, almost. Maybe he didn’t fall on it, but he’s history now!! So should be every other RINO Republican and socialist Democrat that sold out America!!

We’ve got our elephant guns out and we’ll be coming for RINO blood in November!!

And lame ass socialist RINO liar Mitt Romney can KMA!!
