Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.
Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).
But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!

AMEN, EVigilance. Caribou, there was a time when I would have voted for a RINO like Romney for the same "pragmatic" reasons that guide your thinking, but I've gotten a little wiser as I've gotten older, and I hold 100 percent with Jim Robinson here. A Romney win would be a loss for America, and I will not vote for that kind of thing anymore.
I say "anymore" because Arnold Schwarzenegger, whom I voted for, taught me a lesson; if I had it to do over again, I would let his very liberal and racist opponent, Bustamonte, win because in the long run, Arnold has done more damage to the GOP and California than Bustamonte could have done. And I am one of the few who think that in fact, Romney would have been, and would be in the future, WORSE than Obama. Obama's desctruction is bringing things to a head while there's still a chance we can remedy the problem; Romney would have continued the leftward socialist path under the GOP banner, destroying what little is left of the GOP brand, and made it so bad that by the time the next Obama got into office, it would be too late to remedy things.
Learn from Schwarzenegger. He is proof that a RINO can be worse for America and the hope offered by the Republican party, than a statist, socialist liberal Democrat.

Exactly HOW is Mitt fighting the "gay community"? That comment sounds like it came straight from Romney's campaign manager. Use that old mormon persecution card again.
The gay community is fighting mormons all right, but this makes it sound like Mitt led the prop08 charge and had nothing to do with gay marriage in MA.
I’m in the same boat. Have a couple of favorites, but still want to look at all the options. Like you, I’ve got my own “no go” list.

Amen. 2008 was a total fiasco and a perfect example of what not to do. There was no real consensus at any point during the process.
I watched that floor fight from beginning to end, in the end Reagan gave in to the money changers, to the detriment of our country.

Jim, I also held my nose and voted for McCain/Palin, but with much trepidation. It was like a lose (McCain) or LOSE BIG with Obummer. Next time around we need a real clear choice to the marxists that have taken over the dem party.
The lose/lose big thing is something I hope I’ll never have to feel again. I’m hoping some one will seize the opportunity and lead the GOP back to where it belongs. Reagan’s shoes may be impossible to fill with our current crop of pols.

when talk radio got behind Romney was when we were ALL faced w/ McLame. I recall during the primaries, none of the talkers got behind any of them until the very end of the primary and there was alot of consternation about that.
All the talkers couldn’t stand McLame. Remember Ann Coulter’s comments? She got behind Hitlery instead of mcLame!
Fully agree, as the recent traitorous act by Specter points out, the fish(GOP) is rotting from the head.

Sadly as usual you will support whomever the power brokers in the GOP decide you will support. The elite GOP party members really disdain the Reganites among us, as much as the Liberals do.
Talk radio didn’t have to come out and endorse him outright to support him. They spent their time attacking his opponents. Rush said that Romney was only wrong on one conservative issue in the past.
