Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.
Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).
But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!
G.O.P., R.I.P!
Aww, thanks, Finny! I’ve been enjoying your posts immensely — IMO you’re a very well-spoken advocate of the conservative cause.
I think we probably agree with each other. That was what I was trying to say, in a very roundabout way.
You noticed that too, huh?
Thanks for your very kind words. :^)
I understood you. No worries. I was supporting you, and putting a nod in to Jim on this particular issue/person.
Your willingness to lie and to continue posting lies even when exposed is troubling. As the news reports, Governor Palin did not endorse a candidate.
You posted two meaningless quotes from her (that you got from an anti Palin blog by the way, interesting to find out that you read that blog), neither of them offered any substantiation of your blatant lie that Palin campaigned for Romney in Alaska.
One was oddly about Ron Paul which has nothing to do with anything and the other one was the first sentence of this quote He said all the right things about resource development in Alaska, she said. I didnt have an opportunity to speak to all the candidates, but again, its not my job to speak to all the candidates and tell Americans who to vote for. Thats Americans jobs, to figure out what candidates are standing for. Thats the voters jobs. which actually mocks your dishonest claim.
Yep this was another of your whoppers. Unfortunately it is a smear against a good woman and a competitor to the liberal that you support, I hope that we dont see this nonsense again.

When the GOP held its Alaska caucus on Feb. 5, Palin didnt bother to endorse a candidate, despite personal appeals from Huckabee and Mitt Romney, her fellow social conservatives.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin did not give an endorsement to any candidates in the race, though a spokeswoman for Palin said shed like to support McCain but cannot because of his stance on drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, according to the Anchorage Daily News. Rival Romney received the endorsement of Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski this past weekend.
MITT ROMNEY “One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”
“In seeking the support of the Log Cabin Republican Club, Romney wrote them a letter promising that ‘as we seek to establish full equality for America’s gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.’ “ [His opponent at the time was Sen. Ted Kennedy, perhaps the foremost advocate of homosexual rights in the U.S. Senate.]

Romney Opposes the Boy Scouts’ Ban on Homosexual Scoutmasters
Despite the over 2,500 pedophilia cases now on record involving homosexual scout leaders, Romney stated, “I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.” In the same article, a BSA official criticized Romney for opposing Scout policy.

Romney barred Boy Scouts from public participation in 2002 Olympics
The 2002 Olympics - run by Mitt Romney - was the only Olympics that restricted the Boy Scouts from participating. According to news reports, this was apparently because of pressure from homosexual activists. (But also, according to reports, homosexual groups participated fairly prominently.) Romney would not respond to reporters’ questions about that action.
And in the 2002 gubernatorial race, Romney was again courting the homosexual community:
“It’s 9:15 a.m. and Republican gubernatorial nominee Mitt Romney is in good spirits. He’s just wrapped up a meeting with the Massachusetts Log Cabin Republicans at Mario’s restaurant in Boston, where he won his first endorsement from a gay organization . . . According to Mark Goshko, a former LCR president, the group’s 15-member board of governors, the body that votes to endorse candidates, made the unanimous decision after meeting with the Romney campaign and holding extensive discussions.”

Romney’s campaign distributed pro-gay rights campaign literature during Boston’s “Gay Pride” events
The annual “Gay Pride” events in Boston, as in other cities across the country, regularly feature obscene and degrading floats, handouts, and activities:
“During his 2002 gubernatorial run his campaign distributed bright pink flyers during Pride that declared ‘Mitt and Kerry [running mate Kerry Healey] wish you a great Pride weekend! All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual preference.’ Romney also argued that he would not only support gay friendly policies but would fight on behalf of the gay community to secure benefits such as domestic partner benefits and hospital visitation rights for same-sex couples.”

Mitt is the real deal for Conservatives, he, his campaign materials and all his supporters (sycophants) say so, there for it is “true” no matter what the facts say...
Well, thanks for analyzing FR in your whole year here and coming up with that diagnosis. I doubt many FReepers would appreciate it or agree with it!
Here is the New Yorker describing it.
“This is a habit of Romneys. Politicians tend to pander, especially during the primary season. Romneys chief opponent, Rudy Giuliani, also has a history as a pro-gun-control, pro-gay-rights Republican. But while Giuliani simply downplays his record on those issues, Romney sells himself as a true convert. He not only shifts positions; he often claims to be the most passionate advocate of his new stances. Its one of the reasons that his metamorphosis from liberal Republican to committed right-winger seems so jarring. In 1994, in his race for the Senate, he didnt simply argue that he was a defender of gay rights; he claimed to be a stronger advocate than his opponent, Edward Kennedy. Today, hes not just a faithful conservative but the only Republican candidate who represents the Republican wing of the Republican Party. He brings a salesmans bravado and certainty to issues. At a debate in May, when asked how he would respond to a hypothetical situation involving the interrogation of a terrorist at Guantánamo Bay, he said, Some people have said we ought to close Guantánamo. My view is that we ought to double Guantánamo. Elected as a pro-choice governor in 2002YouTube is flooded with his passionate advocacy of abortion rightshe now presents himself as the most resolute anti-abortion candidate in the Republican field. A Mormon, he sometimes adopts the religious language of Evangelicals when he is addressing conservative Christian groups. To economic conservatives, he pitches himself as the candidate most strongly committed to slashing spending and taxes. (Hes the only major G.O.P. candidate to have signed a formal anti-tax pledge, the sort of move that his spokesman dismissed as government by gimmickry in Romneys 2002 gubernatorial campaign.)”
Actually, I’m not looking for agreement - it’s not possible here - so, just get lost.
Yada yada yada...
I will miss those guys...
Yada yada yada...
I will miss those guys...
The Boss and the vast majority of FR members know Mitt is not it for Conservatives.
See, agreement...
Sounds fine, so get lost.
Sounds like you have it backwards there...
Nah, I don't take orders well.
Gotta be a Romney supporter, gets everything backwards...
Very well said MHG. I appreciate your sentiments. You & I disagree on many things, including Romney, but I respect your opinions & views expressed on this subject. Very thoughtful post.
