Less than a quarter of all voters call themselves Republicans, a number that has dropped precipitously over the past six years, according to a new analysis.
In more than 7,000 interviews conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2009, just 23 percent of voters self-identify as members of the Grand Old Party. That's down from 30 percent as recently as 2004, and the trend shows no signs of slowing.

The number has dropped because former Republicans now label themselves as Conservatives, but then the MSM couldn’t figure out anyway.

and as long as the Republican Party acts like Dhimmicrat Lite, they will keep losing people who want to be aligned with them.

Yet in 2004 with only “30%” calling themselves Republicans, the GOP won the Presidency with 52% of the vote, a majority in the House of Representatives, a major of State Governors and a 55-45 Majority in the US Senate.

I know I don’t consider myself a Republican anymore.

Doesn’t Pew have a Hispanic polling and research arm? They release regular polls on how great illegals are.
Most polling anymore is to generate news and push a liberal agenda. Rasmussen is about the only decent one anymore. Harris was good but they only do Pres polls just before the election.

The GOP is going the way of the Whigs: Their leadership refused to take stands on important issues, instead trying to be all things to all people.

I would not identify myself as a Republican either after the last several decades of liberal-lite “Republican” hogwash in Washington.
But I would call myself a Conservative for 20+ years now. I guess they didn’t ask that question. I wonder what the results of a question like that would be...

I'll bet the numbers who identify as conservatives represent an electable majority. All of the RINO apologists who think we need to vote Obama-lite in order to skim off enough democrats to win can go pound sand. Their way has not and never will work.
