Napolitano declares public health emergency @ 1:01 pm by Eric Zimmermann
The United States will declare the swine flu outbreak a public health emergency, Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano said today.
Speaking at a White House press briefing, Napolitano said the declaration is not as severe it sounds.
"It allows us to free up state and local resources" that otherwise would not be available, Napolitano said.
The declaration does not necessarily convey the authority to initiate quarantines.
"We're nowhere near that kind of decision," Napolitano said.
Also at the briefing, the Director of the Center for Disease Control, Richard Besser, warned that there will likely be more cases of the swine flu detected in the U.S., adding those cases will grow more severe.

It’s certainly an odd protocol for a medical issue.
If the republicans were smart, they would use this opportunity to educate Americans on the failures of socialized Obama Care by citing the number of deaths in Mexico(which has Government run healthcare)!

I know that video is probably BS, but it’s still scary. What is that train for? I’ve never seen a train like that or that long? I have a very bad feeling about this country. I no longer feel secure and just want to get out of here.
I just had interesting thought. I am in Ohio, so a case in Lorain County was interesting to me. (Especially since my whole family has most of the symptoms;0(
I googled swine flu and there have been cases here in the last several years! Maybe this is not a new “strain” and they are hyping it and testing all flu cases. Maybe this is just a strain that has been out there, not really affecting mortality rates.
I am done speculating on why, but what if the irony is that it is nothing new.
i.e., we can now put anything under federal control.

I know there are different strains, but we really don’t know the exact strain that this was. Any ideas on how to find out?
Sorry folks, to the govt - “pandemic” is in the same realm as disasters and “bioterrorism”, and falls under the authority of DHS. In fact, it is listed as one of the reasons they would institute martial law if necessary.
This has been true a while and has been a concern of mine for over a year. I do not think people are prepared for a long term forced quarantine.
Seeing Obama riding around in a golf cart today, while his inept government tells us they are taking aggressive actions (all they are doing is aggressively “watching”), doing nothing, not doing things we know could help contain it. This is all NOT going to help them with a national healthcare agenda. In fact, I believe it will fly back in their face - they are showing us right now how BAD they are at healthcare.

Some of those tinfoil hat theories aren’t seeming so wildly insane right now. There are a lot of unanswered questions. What are all of those ventilated trains for? 30 miles of cars in many states? I’ve never seen trains like that. I find it hard to believe people can’t find out who they belong to and what they are for. I just want answers, then I won’t be apt to join the tinfoil hat crowd.
