WASHINGTON The Army general who led the investigation into prisoner abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison accused the Bush administration Wednesday of committing "war crimes" and called for those responsible to be held to account. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, who's now retired, came in a new report that found that U.S. personnel tortured and abused detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, using beatings, electrical shocks, sexual humiliation and other cruel practices.
"After years of disclosures by government investigations, media accounts and reports from human rights organizations, there is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes," Taguba wrote. "The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account."
Taguba, whose 2004 investigation documented chilling abuses at Abu Ghraib, is thought to be the most senior official to have accused the administration of war crimes. "The commander in chief and those under him authorized a systematic regime of torture," he wrote.
A White House spokeswoman, Kate Starr, had no comment.
Taguba didn't respond to a request for further comment relayed via a spokesman.

Puck this Pilipino.
Those people are known for saying stupid things, its small man syndrome.
Since Obama mouthed off, telling the Iranian backed Iraqi Shi'ite terrorist gangs, the lurking Taliban & Al-Qaida terrorists about his future cut-and-run plans, eventually leaving Iraq and her oil reserves to the Russian supported Iranians, plus the Turks will attempt a power play in Kurdistan, the Syrians on the western front and Saudi-funded Al-Qaida killers will be blowing themselves up left and right. Really smart from the White House...........
Some one needs to take....
This simple scumbag Taguba sounds like a Clinton general.
That confused me too.
It's not almost. They want them dead. Hypocritically, if Bush & Co. publicly hanged terrorists, the left would riot in the streets.
“Its almost like the Left wont be satisfied until Bush & Cheney are publicly hanged.”
Without a doubt. The vitriol and hatred have been well publicized since what, 2000? IMO, they will stop at nothing to see them, as well as others, punished to the fullest extent THEY find possible.
But yes, as a point to another post, I also believe that keeping them in the ‘news’ is allowing Obama’s daily agenda to destroy capitalism in favor of (at best) socialism, to advance unnoticed/unchallenged. Democrats are on the offence, Republicans on the defense. Glenn Beck is absolutely correct...pay no attention to what they make the ‘issue of the day’, something much more important is happening behind the scenes.
looks like a traitor to me...
They keep this up and last week’s Homeland Security warning will turn out to be a self fulfilling prophecy. I have to wonder if this hasn’t been part of Bamstars plan all along!
Take this generals kid and let the taliban behead him then see if this assclown “general” see us doing crimes.
F this magic negro and his minions.
What we have been seeing with the recent tea party protests is a preview of things to come, when stuff like that will become very common.
Have they not been getting a bit “nervous” about the emergence of the tea party movement? They see a sleeping giant awakening.
Getting Bush, Cheney and the repubs out of office wasn’t enough.
The libs want revenge.
I expect a purge of anything Bush, similar to the purge of Stalin, Confederate flag.
Am I misunderstanding something or did he just commit an offense for which he will be court martialed?
