Napolitano: Veterans are Targets of Right-Wing Extremist Recruiters Homeland security chief says report could have been written differently, but imperative was to release details on right-wing extremists.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

WASHINGTON -- The head of homeland security said Sunday she regrets that some people took offense over a report warning that right-wing extremist groups were trying to recruit disgruntled troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

But Secretary Janet Napolitano added that "a number of groups far too numerous to mention" were targeting returning veterans to recruit them to carry out domestic terrorism attacks.

She told a cable news network the warning report that went out American law enforcement agencies was consistent with reports that were issued before.

Because she really believes it.

It is pretty arrogant of her to not be apologizing. And not the kind of half apology that she is tossing around. She should just shut up.

She is biased and only looks at those whom she disagrees with as a threat.

There are few left wing nuts who are a threat too. Bill Ayers is perfect example. I refer to him as Timothy McVeigh lite. Is he currently “active?” Unlikely. But he certainly was unrepentant. Which means he might do it again if given the opportunity.

I hate to tell her, but frankly the skills learned in the military are not that special that only veterans can fulfill such needs.

I'm sure they are. Had she said veterans were seeking out these groups, I'd be pissed... but the report actually made a valid point here. The whacko groups would dearly love to add the experience that a combat vet would bring to the table.

That issue aside, the report itself was badly done. Whoever wrote it needs to remember what the purpose of analysis is and keep the inflammatory speculation out of it.

This thing shouldn't have gotten past the first level supevisor.

You are correct! Mcveigh said he got the formula for the OKC bomb from the book "Turner's diary".

Actually, I hope she keeps running her mouth just the way she has been.

“Napolitano said that in retrospect anything in the report could have been written differently, but based on President Obama’s desire for more transparency and accountability she decided the imperative was to release the report.”

This is a very helpful policy that will encourage people to do what they should.

Actually the more she spouts her biased rhetoric, the more people are going to see how far left ZERO’s Administration is from the norm.

We need to use her statements and the apology tour statements of ZERO and Mrs. Clinton in 2010 and 2012 to convince the American people that these people are far from mainstream and are bad for America.

She is over the top again — she didn’t learn one lesson from her opening her mouth the other day. This numbskull heading Homeland Security is one scary person. Cannot fathom what it would be like to work in that organization under her. One good thing — she is no longer Governor of AZ.

But American Legion National Commander David Rehbein, who is to meet with Napolitano on Friday, told FOX News on Sunday the evidence suggests that troops are more likely to be first responders than extremists during an attack on the homeland.

Hey hey, hey ho. Janet Reno Napolitano has got to go.

The one thing she regrets is our lack of understanding? Is that supposed to be an apology?

We want to call for her resignation (numbskulls like her don’t resign), but we want her to keep right on talking and becoming the poster person for the DemocRATs along with the apology tour of ZERO/Clinton.

We need to take back seats in 2010 and she is going to help do it — wish someone would ask Pelosi what she thinks of these statements. Would love to get her on record supporting Napolitano.

This lackey dyke's resignation/firing is irrelevant, imho.

This document is a policy statement from the marxists who've ridden into power on the wings of decades of PC indoctrination of the gullible and gutless.

It's nothing less than an overt declaration of war against our Constitution, the wisdom of our Founders, and anyone who still respects them.

The chance of a peaceful return to American ideals grows more dim with each passing day.

But if we're to have the respect of our grandchildren, we must never cease fighting this evil subversion of our nation.

Her comments are amazing, in that, she believes our vets, our first line of defense, are so utterly mentally weak, the skin heads could just scoop them up.

I'm not sure who I want to talk more Napolitano or Militant Michelle Obama...........good lord.

Nappy and everyone involved in creating this piece of trash report should resign,.. NOW!

I'll take it a step further if I may.

There needs to be an investigation into Homeland Security. If the culture there is such that a report targeting anybody is issued, the fissures run deep. Government is afraid of its own citizens. If the mess known as Homeland Security can't be righted, it needs to be abolished.

There is not one government agency more important than the citizens of the United States.

Typical politician non-apology. "I'm sorry you took offense at my comments." Not "I apologize for slandering every American veteran with a poorly thought out, poorly worded and overtly antagonistic report."
