Discovery of Radiological Dispersal Device Components, Literature, and Radioactive Material at the Maine Residence of an Identified Deceased US Person On 9 December 2008, radiological dispersal device components and literature, and radioactive materials, were discovered at the Maine residence of an identified deceased USPER James Cummings. Cummings had possible ties to white supremacist groups.
On 9 December 2008, four one-gallon containers of 35 percent hydrogen peroxide, lithium metal, thermite, aluminum powder, beryllium, boron, black iron oxide, and magnesium ribbon were discovered at the Cummings’ residence. (FBI comments: Literature on constructing ‘dirty bombs’; information referring to cesium-137, strontium-90, and cobalt-60; and possible evidence linking James ((Cummings)) to white supremacist groups were also discovered.)

Amber Cummings retained legal counsel upon being questioned by law enforcement about any involvement with white supremacists. Amber ((Cummings)) indicated James was very upset with Barack Obama being elected President. She indicated James had been in contact with ‘white supremacist group(s)’.
Amber also indicated James mixed chemicals in the kitchen sink at their residence and had mentioned ‘dirty bombs’. (Source comment: State authorities detected radiation emissions in four small jars in the residence labeled ‘uranium metal’, as well as one jar labeled ‘thorium.’ The four jars of uranium carried the label of an identified US company.)
An application for membership in the National Socialist Movement, which had been completed by James Cummings was discovered.
(FBI comments: Uranium, thorium, cesium-137, strontium-90, and cobalt-60 are radioactive isotopes. 35 percent hydrogen peroxide is a necessary precursor for the manufacture of peroxide-based explosives.
Lithium metal, thermite, and aluminum are materials used to sensitize and amplify the effects of explosives.
The identified US Company in this report sold the depleted uranium online.

Nevermind that they accomplished precisely what the socialists wanted to accomplish.

Seriously: I'm elated that the authorities were able to seize these bomb-making materials, and - more importantly - I hope that they succeed in tracking down the sources.
Incidentally, the expression "depleted uranium" means only that it contains less than the usual 0.7% of isotope 235 - but it still contains some of it. And the remaining U-238 is also still radioactive (though it has a half-life of 4.5 billion years, and is thus less radioactive than U-235, which has a half-life of 700 million years).

Today a Northern California woman is facing the possibility of years in prison on drug possession and child endangerment charges after she was turned in by her own son.
According to police, she had abused drugs for years.
But, when her son saw her allegedly giving heroin to his younger sister, he decided to take drastic action. This story from NBC’s Dan Lothian.
DAN LOTHIAN reporting:
It’s an unusual case of reverse discipline.
Seventeen-year-old James Cummings using a video camera to bust his mom for allegedly using and selling drugs right inside their home.
Mr. JAMES CUMMINGS: Basically its the last—last step that I can think of before she ends up killing herself or somebody else with the selling of them.
LOTHIAN: In this Fort Bragg, California, neighborhood, Cummings says he got tired of witnessing his mother’s drug use over several years. And then the final straw, mom allegedly supplying his 14-year-old sister with heroin.
With a little ingenuity, Cummings installed a miniature video camera in an electrical socket and wired it into his bedroom where he could operate it by remote control and record his mother.
Forty-year-old Aura Rae Johansen eventually discovered her son’s secret, became angry, and destroyed some of the tapes. Cummings says, fearing for his life he called police, who arrested his mother a little more than a week ago.
Later inside the house, investigators recovered some of the videotapes with plenty of compelling evidence. Police say they were impressed with Cummings’ courage.
Lieutenant TONY CRAVER (Fort Bragg Sheriff’s Department): There’s not a bit of malice in this kid’s heart.
There’s not a—not a malicious bone in his body. Everything he did to his—was done to help his mother.
LOTHIAN: While some family members were reportedly upset with the 17-year-old’s undercover work, this community of some 5700 people seems to be supportive.
Unidentified Woman: It would be hard for me to put my mom in jail for, like, doing drugs, I mean, wouldn’t want to, but if it was to help my family and help my lov—my loved ones, I definitely would.
LOTHIAN: And Cummings is having no second thoughts.
Mr. CUMMINGS: Well, as long as it can work out to the final result that she’s off drugs and my sister, too, then everything that happens is fine with me.
LOTHIAN: Cummings and his sister are now living with their father. Johansen has been released from jail on $75,000 bail.

I have no idea about the true circumstances surrounding Mr Cumming and his demise, although I can’t help but wonder whether that trust fund might have been part of the wife’s decision calculus. But character assassination is a pathetically easy task to accomplish. As a case more or less in point, consider what was done during the 2000 presidential election campaign to Adm Stockdale.
I used to know some people in Ft. Bragg, dated a woman whose family lived there. They were all, and most of the town, a bunch of left wing loonies, so I stopped dating the woman and never went back to the area. It is a beautiful area but full of corrupt left wing a**hats.
