Anti-creationists: do they fear an overthrow of Darwin in the U.S.?
by Russ Humphreys
Published: 16 April 2009
This year, as has been happening every year for several decades, various U.S. states are introducing legislation encouraging public-school students to examine scientific evidence against Darwinism. And again, anti-creationist lobby groups, such as the National Center for Science Education,[1] are pushing the panic button, claiming that such efforts aim to introduce Christianity into government-run schools.
This year, however, the anti-creationists seem to be pushing the button harder, saying that such bills are multiplying out of control.[2] Perhaps that is because more states now seem to be involved. Bills are pending or currently passed in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida, while more are sprouting in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Michigan, Missouri, and South Carolina. As usual, one tactic the anti-creationists are using is to label such efforts as creationist and therefore religion, even though the bills only propose teaching more science evidence...

Ping!
This one doesn't.
It’s more a concern that Christians are abandoning the field of science to people of questionable moral values.
Neither does this one.
I see you have prepared yourself for the inevitable :o)
It would be nice to shut the government indoctrination camps down, but seeing more diversity in them would be a welcome change from my own experience at any rate. They literally managed to keep the existence of any alternative to the Darwinian story from my mind until well into college, a testimony to the effectiveness of Darwinian brainwashing.
There isn't any.
Oxymoron Alert!!!
Out of the control of the jackbooted thugs who currently have a stranglehold on the ideology of science in this country...namely, the Temple of Darwinistic Materialism.
“various U.S. states are introducing legislation encouraging public-school students to examine scientific evidence against Darwinism”
There is no way in hell that public school students can assess frontier natural history. There is barely enough time in public high school to finish teaching the basic concepts and terminology. Most biology majors in college don’t focus on the modern theories until 3rd year classes in evolution. To get enough of a knowledge base on the subject you need at least a masters degree or comparable outside study.

“The polling data show...”
Good thing science doesn’t rely on polls, otherwise doctors would still believe that sickness was caused by newts living in one’s stomach or imbalance in essential vapors.
Some of Darwin’s positions are outdated and some are not. It’s important to remember that he knew nothing of modern genetics and wasn’t even aware of Gregor Mendel’s work.
I went through the exact same process. However, I became Born Again in High School, and thus was promoting Creation vs. Evolution debates by the time I hit college. Those were the days! Can you imagine all the pent up energy in the Creation Community after having been censored, suppressed and persecuted so long!?!?!
I certainly don’t fear the obvious Creation fable becoming some sort of scientific truth.
They must have some kind of absolute control. I have never seen experimental data for 6-day creationism, not even on the internet. They must have control over even that!
That creationism will be seen for what it is, theology and not science? I have been for a while.
