THOSE OLD Republican hot buttons are growing cold. For proof, check out a recent interview with Mitt Romney, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Massachusetts.
According to TheHill.com, a congressional newspaper that publishes when Congress is in session, "Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail." The article also quotes Romney as saying, "We have a natural affinity with Hispanic-American voters, Asian-American voters."
This could be extreme political repositioning, even for Romney.
. . . . .
How Romney gets beyond the flip-flop-flips of his multiple-choice positions on immigration and other issues is a mystery only he can solve.

I liked the summation: “Hes one sick puppy.”
Because you won't compromise with Conservatives, and give them what they ask, in return for their vote. You'd rather hold fast to all the RINO positions, despite their losing record.
100% for you or a not-so-friendly “f@#k off”? I find that classic example of hypocrisy.
I had one do that to me not too long ago. I stated I don't like Romney because he is a RINO and far too "moderate" and I was accused of being anti-Mormon. I never even mentioned his religion.

We have a natural affinity with Hispanic-American voters, Asian-American voters, he said.
Speaking in his Ritz-Carlton room with a pair of blue jeans on the dresser, Romney declined to criticize immigration hard-liners like former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.), who backed Romney after he dropped his own presidential bid. Romney argued that all 2008 GOP candidates including Tancredo strongly favor legal immigration.

Don’t jump to conclusions.
Here’s the entirety of what it says about immigration:
Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail.

Yes. I thought Romney made a good suggestion. But you would never know it from the knee-jerk, neagative reaction on FR.
They did that in 2004.
These Romney threads are always a blast, with people who support him because of his religion condemning people who won’t support him because of his religion.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It's good to see Willard's true colors coming out well in advance of the 2012 primary. This combined with his liberal record should assure he isn't even a factor in the next Presidential race.
That is so blatantly false and misleading it boggles the mind reading it here.
Romney had an immigration reform plan last election that could have been written by free republic.

Am I repeating myself?
If comes out for universal health care, gay marriage and wants to raise taxes (like he did in Massachusetts), you'll drink the Kool-Aid and suggest he is brilliant.
He didn’t state any position at all. That’s the point. Immigration reform can mean absolutely anything. Everyone uses the term now to discuss different approaches.
Personally, I think we should put a moratorium on legal immigration as well but there are no candidates who embrace that position.
Too many people here don’t discuss facts, just their personal projections of people. Common sense has taken a vacation from this site.
I'm so glad the writer threw that in.
Boxers or briefs?
amazing...change the law you dont bother enforcing, just to get elected....
interesting that this happens at Easter
30 pieces of silver anyone??
Fortunately, I have had a lot of experience being tolerant and patient with children.
See #52. We don’t need *any* “reform.”
And frankly, all of these politicians just throwing around terms thinking it will win them votes is pathetic.
Why not reach out to Hispanics based on the platform of conservatism that already exists? Instead, they all seem to say that reaching out must be accompanied by pandering with new or special rights. It is beyond tiring!
Can you name anyone who is in favor of cutting off benefits and sending all the illegals home?
There are NO candidates who will come out and say this. Even Sarah Palin was on board with the McCain type amnesty.
Given that 2/3rds of Americans want illegals gone the issue will have to be addressed in some way.

Calling all Mittbots to praise their philosopher/God.
