THOSE OLD Republican hot buttons are growing cold. For proof, check out a recent interview with Mitt Romney, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Massachusetts.
According to TheHill.com, a congressional newspaper that publishes when Congress is in session, "Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail." The article also quotes Romney as saying, "We have a natural affinity with Hispanic-American voters, Asian-American voters."
This could be extreme political repositioning, even for Romney.
. . . . .
How Romney gets beyond the flip-flop-flips of his multiple-choice positions on immigration and other issues is a mystery only he can solve.

Bingo! Guess a few of us knew what we were talking about on Romney while the droolers attacked that we didn’t have a clue.
Go after the professional Hispanic legal vote as the more affluent they become the more apt they are to become Republican and dislike illegals themselves.
Thanks calcowgirl, very nice response, I was little worried last night, but I know you had a stressful day :)
You’re welcome. :)
Anyone who doubts that need only look at the evidence. People who immigrate legally tend to be vetted, ambitious, sponsored or all the above. With the exception of those settled here because of some stupid UN or State Department program, like the Somali Muslims.
People who don't have to jump through a lot of hoops to immigrate here legally or have their immigration papers handed to them are more likely to be public charges.
Further, no matter what pro-illegal stance the Republicans take, the Democrats will always do them one better. How many Hispanics voted for McCain out of gratitude for his position on amnesty when Oba Mao offered amnesty, driver's licenses and telling American parents to have their kids learn Spanish?
Trust - eh; who knows...
Would a person think you actually know what a CHRISTIAN is? probably not...
Then why on earth would you throw out an OBVIOUS attention getter like: MORMONs are Christians if you would then REFUSE to discuss any concerns it gendered?
Over a year-and-a-half?
That's funny, because this is the FIRST and ONLY time that you have brought this up to me.
Now, would you care to correct that?

Im not Catholic, I really wanted to know if as a Catholic you were telling us what your faith and the Vatican says about Mormonism. It sounded in your post as though the Pope accepts mormons as Christians.

So, are you saying that this is the 2nd time in a year-and-half that you have asked me this or have there been more times?
You’ve made it sound like you have been consistently asking me this for over a year-and-a-half.
I surely would have remembered multiple instances, so I’ll say this would be the second time.
Read your post 368 again and then read post 369 again, you are starting to whack out.
Will you come around to agreeing with the Catholic church and your Pope?
How many times do you think you have asked me?
How many times should he have to ask before getting a straight answer?
sheesh, folks... you've now taken this thread to almost 400 posts! Just answer the questions or directly refuse to. All of this defusion, redirection, obfuscation does not make for interesting dialogue.

Hey, ansel is the one that just NEEDS to know and is playing games.
Take it up with him and his motley crew here on FR.
Over the last 17 months I have tried every thing I could to help you see the rebellion that you are in. Here is another example.

This Catholic considers Mormons Christian
You know for a fact that Catholics do not accept Mormons as Christians. Also see post 358, you seem at war with your church, you always promote yourself as speaking as a Catholic, but then you deny your church.

Mormons are some of the most CHRISTIAN people that I know. Let people love God in peace. Stop the preaching and stop the fighting.

I disagree... but carry on, if you must.
