By the way, I'd be very careful about attacking Obama directly, because then it looks like we are sore losers of the presidential election -- and that question was settled last November.

I'd go after Obama's programs and go after Congress, because he can't do anything without Congressional approval -- and Congress, as a whole, is always a fair poltical target.

these are the same type of koooky comon grand juries that tried to indict GWBush. We need to stay FAR away from them and keep them FAR away from the tea parties.

They only cloud the message of “no socialism, no big government, no indentured slave taxation”.

If these tea parties do not include recruitment sign-ups for neighborhood organizing (for canvassing, electoral activism to support legislative, sheriff and other campaigns, and for issue activism) it is a massively hollow and superficial effort and a pity of potentiall tragic proportion.

I have read that actual bill and it is nothing but an invitation to k street and selective taxation and like the 1991 luxury tax, an ecconomy killer.

You might recall that I’ve strongly opposed any so-called “Fair” Tax that includes the socialistic “prebates” program.

But, other conservatives should definitely NOT make you feel unwelcome to join any Tea Party rallies and discuss your ideas there. I’m quite sure there will be a number of other well-intentioned bad ideas floating around. And some good ideas too.

It is enough for now, that as many folks as possible express public outrage over the current situation. We do not need to agree on a specific plan for the future by next week.

I would be to if it were socialistic. It is a common misconception that the prebate will be sufficient to pay bills and thereby discourage people from working. The truth is it won't come close to covering the cost of sustaining a house hold as it will only cover the cost of taxes on necessities upto the poverty level Fair Tax Faq #3. A family of four from the chart at the link will only receive a monthly prebate of $537 or $6440 annually. No family could survive alone on this amount. At least one member of the household will still have to work full time to pay bills as they do now.

The income tax is far more socialistic than The Fair Tax will be considering the former is used as a weapon of punishment and control against the people and has stolen our freedoms over the years thanks to the heavy handed tactics of the IRS. All that goes away with The Fair Tax.

Well, I thought of something simple and maybe you will like it and can use it. This would be easy to make on posters. Make a big drawing of a tea bag, very simple outline, since these are TEA party demonstrations. Inside the teabag in large letters these words: BAG

NEW

TAXES!!!

That has NEVER been the thrust of my arguments against the silly ‘prebates’....and you know it.

The prebates turn a great flat tax into an effectively PROGRESSIVE rate. That is a fact which cannot be denied.

I don’t wish to argue, AGAIN, about this off-topic subject (unless someone else wants the explanation of my opposition to the so-called “Fair” Tax which I’ve given you multiple times prior). I only chimed in here to point out that even though guys like us disagree vehemently on specific actions to be taken, we can all show up to demonstrate our disapproval of the current system.
