"This is the very first English Jihadi Magazine aimed at the laymen, students of knowledge, political activists, intellectuals and scholars of the Ummah. It will seek to educate the Ummah on a monthly basis as to the latest happenings in fields related to Politics, Society, Economy, Technology etc. as well as educate the Muslims on the worldview of the Jihadi current. This magazine will serve as a platform for the English speaking Muslim Community to discuss their ideas, differences and thoughts on various issues related to the Islamic world and the hot issues which many stay silent on."

We have a thinking enemy, not trying to give them any props, but we need to be aware of their level of sophistication and dedication to destroying us.
A rational country would expel them and their magazines.

“Al-Fursan Media: Part I (Overview)
SNIPPET: “This is the first post in what will be a 71-part series on the new English-language jihadist magazine: Jihad Recollections
71 post-series? you might gasp. Yes, Im going to analyze this puppy page-by-page on my blog in order to show you whats inside the mind and media of English jihadists.
In October 2008, Samir Khan (allegedly the brains behind Inshallahshaheed and Ignored Puzzle Pieces of Knowledge website) allegedly announced the launching of Al-Fursan Media, an English-language jihadist media organization. Built in the vein of media groups like Global Islamic Media Front, Sawt al-Jihad and as-Sahab, this group was designed to:”

“Jihad Recollections”
Thomas Hegghammer
April 7th, 2009 | Jihadi journals, Jihadi media, Strategy, propaganda
SNIPPET: “We usually dont cover English language jihadi media here at Jihadica, but the recent release of a new magazine entitled Jihad Recollections (JR) attracted my attention because it is produced by Fursan media and because it is so well done. The magazine fills a gap in the world of jihadi media, as the editorial states:
We have acknowledged that the Arabic Jihadi media have surpassed the English community by light years. Many of our hard working brothers in the English Jihadi community may Allah reward them with mountains of good deeds usually limit themselves to translating works rather than developing their own. Henceforth, we have decided to take it upon ourselves to produce the first Jihadi Magazine in English.
It is not quite true that this is the first jihadi magazine in English, but this is indeed the most serious one I have seen.”

SNIPPET: “So, Samir, whats up with that?
Ok, next statement by Al-Fursan:
We have acknowledged that the Arabic Jihadi media have surpassed the English community by light years. Many of our hard working brothers in the English Jihadi community may Allah reward them with mountains of good deeds usually limit themselves to translating works rather than developing their own.
All true.”

SNIPPET: “Hmmm. Well, Ill be incredibly curious to read about al-Fursans critiques of the fiscal and economic policies being put in place by some of the countrys leading experts. Im sure your insights on the matter will be thoughtful, reflective, theoretically informed and designed to help shore up the tough economic situation that the US finds itself in today. Thanks for your advice, Samir. We really shouldve considered you for the Presidents economic advisory team.”

“Why Jihadist Media Matters, Even if Its Sucky, Like al-Fursan”
SNIPPET: “For those wondering if this Jihad Recollections magazine actually matters, heres my take in between my 71 promised posts:
In one way, no. Jihad Recollections just sucks when compared to the real-deal stuff (what Thomas over at Jihadica works on). This al-Fursan junk has no real substance, is thematically scattered, focused more on glitz than content and offers no ideological steps forward.
In a bunch of other ways, yes. It makes more hardcore stuff available in English, its produced by an American citizen, its directed at radicalizing Americans, Canadians, Brits and Aussies and strengthening an al-Qaida identity among its readers and it actualizes the kind of self-styled jihadi propaganda army of one philosophy advanced by Abu Musab al-Suri.
Am I overdoing it by analyzing every page? Of course. Its a stunt. In many ways, this is my own gratuitous act of intellectual terrorism against the jihadis.”

“American Based Jihad Magazine Analyzed”
SNIPPET: “No need to speculate, Tom. Al Fursan is Samir Khan’s personal attempt at replicating the work of groups like GIMF. And as we all know, he’s in Charlotte.
We also now know, thanks to self promotion over at Revolution Muslim, that Yousef Khattab’s street dawa buddy Younus Abdullah Muhammad, who lives in New York, was also involved in its production:
Al-Fursan presents the new jihadi magazine Jihad Recollections. In this inaugural edition, revolutionmuslim.com’s chief analyst, Younus Abdullah Muhammad, wrote the lead article.
I’m guessing that at least one other author is in Ireland and that most of the others can be found hanging around Sammy’s forum. Thanks to Howie.

If its the same Abu Abdullah as-Sayf who recently started posting to the Islamic Awakening forum, which I think it is based on the writing style, the preeminently English I live in my moms basement jihadi name he came up with and his thematic focus, then heres what I know about him:
Hes probably based in the US. Enjoys graphics design. He made a series of t-shirts that hes peddling online. I want to take the time to show you what this guy thinks is good fashion because it matters.”

“An Internet Jihad Aims at U.S. Viewers”
By MICHAEL MOSS and SOUAD MEKHENNET
Published: October 15, 2007
SNIPPET: “When Osama bin Laden issued his videotaped message to the American people last month, a young jihad enthusiast went online to help spread the word.
The global jihad is as close as YouTube, which features videos like an ode to suicide attacks (top), a message to black Americans from a bin Laden lieutenant (center), and an Iraq insurgency promotional message (bottom).
America needs to listen to Shaykh Usaamah very carefully and take his message with great seriousness, he wrote on his blog. America is known to be a people of arrogance.
Unlike Mr. bin Laden, the blogger was not operating from a remote location. It turns out he is a 21-year-old American named Samir Khan who produces his blog from his parents home in North Carolina, where he serves as a kind of Western relay station for the multimedia productions of violent Islamic groups.”
