So do you think the missile improvements are from Iran and not China?

I believe that NK offshored the development of weapons-grade uranium to Syria, which Israel took out (well, one facility, anyway). But they still had the issue of dropping it on-target.

All the MSM media was asleep. CNN came on to live well after FReeRepublic had the coverage. Same thing with FOX.
FReeRepublic was first on reporting with gaijin thread. And Cindy’s thread that had been up previous. Drudge didn’t have anything for along time.

No statement from DPRK yet. Expect something soon in the next few hours. Probably the 5 p.m. local TV news, which will be in another 2 hours or so. One expects they will proclaim it as a successful “satellite” launch.

Just heard at 10.15p.m. PST about the launch. Not from a News station but from Vin Scully as an aside from the Dodgers/Brewers baseball game.

Immediately switched to FOX just in time to see Geraldo and some female extolling the performance of Michelle, ma belle, in outshining the wife of the French President....had to switch to CNN (barf) to get coverage of this major international event.

Another black eye for FOX - I am so disappointed in them.

Will bill give Obama control of Internet?
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | April 4, 2009 | Drew Zahn

Posted on Saturday, April 04, 2009 10:34:30 PM by Man50D

A pair of bills introduced in the U.S. Senate would grant the White House sweeping new powers to access private online data, regulate the cybersecurity industry and even shut down Internet traffic during a declared “cyber emergency.”

Senate bills No. 773 and 778, introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., are both part of what’s being called the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, which would create a new Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor, reportable directly to the president and charged with defending the country from cyber attack.

And what’d she have to say about McCain heading over to Asia this past week?

McCain is not pretending to be the POTUS, Obummer is.

Congratulations gaijin and Cindy! FR once again scoops the MSM.

I checked FOX, CNN, etc. around 1am ET... CNN International (separate from CNN) was airing live, and (as I mentioned in #645) had Christianne Ammanpour and other lib talking heads placing the blame for this launch squarely on George W. Bush. It was incredible.

Sorry, I'm a bit sleepy... I can't really paraphrase everything they were saying. Something about reversing all the good work that Bill Clinton's administration had done with North Korea... "President Bush reversed all that..."

From the article: “Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s debut trip to the Far East she obtained Beijing’s consent to work with Washington on the economic crisis, but not on international strategic matters.”

I guess we now know why the position is called SOS. There are just so many meanings.

Plus I doubt their accuracy, even if they've go the range, is sufficient to make a dirty bomb much of a threat to anybody. A real nuke might be a different issue.

There are dirty nukes you know. Wrap the warhead in cobalt. However that would increase the weight and decrease the range, maybe a lot.

I am weeping. Tea Party at CNN! We can shut these bastards down...

I don't know. CNN runs rampant in every airport in this country, every hospital and bank, every truck stop (in the northeast anyway), hotel lobbies, malls, on cruise ships, overseas hotels...

If China wants it after that, they’re welcome to it.

Haha, a "dirty bomb" would certainly not result in a loss of communication with a city. It would take a large nuke to do that.

Not a large one, a little one would do that. A somewhat larger one exploded at high altitude could take out the comms and power in a whole region, due to the EMP generated by such an explosion.

I tuned into CNN International (aka CNNi) at about 1am ET... Christianne Ammanpour and a bunch of talking heads were on live discussing how this launch is all the fault of the Bush administration. They were almost literally rubbing their hands with glee...

“Mexico’s mission to the United Nations set the meeting for 3 p.m. EDT, spokesman Marco Morales said. Mexico holds the 15-nation council’s presidency this month.

That approval came after Japan submitted a formal letter requested an emergency session of the United Nations council that handles threats to international peace and security.”

When Mexico is going to the mat for Japan, while Zero is campaigning in Europe; it looks pretty bad.
