I am quite certain that this is not the protocol, and is most unbecoming a President of the United States. |
We're not British subjects so we do not bow or curtsy to their monarchs.
Beck& Hannitty ought to make some hay with this tonight.
Is this crap really the best thing to spend our time and bandwidth with? Who cares? How about going after Bam Bam’s abortion policies, economic policies, global warming, gun-grabbing, etc. etc.??
It’s viral!
Spread the pic around. Every American citizen should see this.
LOL...
And now healine reports...Michelle Obama...TOUCHED the Queen of England! Didn’t ANYONE give them rules to follow????
I will be surprised if the U.S. media mentions this at all.
Oh how I wish it could happen, Gumbo. We need him AND his sweet Babe The Blue Ox. :-)
There is no "our time" here. If enough individuals want to spend some time on a subject, you've got a thread. If they don't, you don't.
If you don't like it, feel free to visit the site you frequented before you joined this one a few short months ago.
And they call W a moron? Everything this dunce does is stupid beyond reason.
Wow...
Uncharted waters Bump

SAUDI ARABIA
Greetings are highly formalistic
Shaking of hand is often accompanied by touching the arm or the shoulder
Men who are familiar with one another may often embrace at greeting
Relish lavish gifts
Have a strict sense of religion and diet
Men may bring wives to the United States, however, in Saudi Arabia, they remain unseen
Cherish long, close business friendships
Harbor a disdain for the US business custom of changing sales/marketing representatives
Dogs are not commonly household pets
Good topics: history, culture, and respect fore the Islamic faith
Bad topics: any blasphemy, Israel, and the role of women

Use your hands carefully. Use your right hand when doing anything in public to practice proper business etiquette in Saudi Arabia (e.g., handshaking). Keep from gesturing with your hands a lot or pointing at anything, especially to the soles of people’s shoes or feet. This is considered very rude behavior. Get used to people being in your personal space and refrain from pulling or jerking back when someone touches you. It is customary to touch and stand close to one another.

Saudi custom regarding greetings is rather ritualized. When entering a meeting full of people, a Saudi will greet each person individually with a handshake while standing. The same is expected of visitors. Learning some appropriate Arabic phrases for such occasions is appreciated.
When you bow to royalty you are showing your subservience to them. So there is no proper bow for a US President to any royal figure. Remember 1776!
never said we should but would we do a bow to the Japs?
would a woman wear a headscarf to the muslims countries?
yes they do as a form of respect but they should not run over and nearly get on their knees to a country which hates us and is trying to spread their view of Islam.
Remember this king will not allow freedom of religion and yet the president of America is nearly on his knees while no form of respect was shown to our best ally ,
An ally who has been there for us and lost their men and women helping us in Iraq and Afghanistan
This is disgusting
That's because 9.11 fellows gave him the opportunity of a life time. President Bush had to focus major efforts on stamping out those Extremeist Pi$$ants and allowed O the opening.
Ditto, I finally got the check the site out..looks really easy!
agreed if we are in Japan we show respect and do a head bow
women wear head scarfs in their muslim countries
When the Queen has them over for guests then a little respect could have been showed instead of them barging in and grabbing her hand and then manhandling her.
There was no reason for him to walk over fast and nearly get on his knees.
This is just another indicator of the media ignoring it and the phony idiot showing whom he really likes and why did he take the oath again, was it on the koran, I do not know but the first call went to muslims
the first media address went to muslims
him getting on his knees nearly to a muslim
but to our best ally he has showed nothing but disdain
