Remarks by the President During First Hundred Days Congressional Luncheon Reception
The Rose Garden
11:45 A.M.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. Thank you for coming. I appreciate you bringing such nice weather. It's good to see members of my Cabinet who are here. Mr. Secretary, thank you for being here.
Today marks our hundredth day of working together for the American people. We've had some good debates. We've made some good progress. And it looks like we're going to pass some good law.
I've now met with most of you, and here's what I think. I think America is lucky to have such distinguished citizens coming to Washington to represent them. I've been impressed by the caliber of the person; I've been impressed by the conviction that you brought to the Oval Office.
Oh, I know we always don't agree. But we're beginning to get a spirit here in Washington where we're more agreeable; where we're setting a different tone. So when the good folks of this country look at our nation's capital, they see something they can be proud of. I want to thank you all very much for your service to the country. I want to thank your families for the sacrifice they make.
I also want to thank you for the constructive spirit in which we've conducted the people's business. I know this, that whatever your views on a particular issue are, that we share a common goal: and that is to serve our country. And it's okay sometimes to share a meal, and that's why we're here. (Laughter.)
So I want to thank you for being here. If you will join me in the East Room, I think we've got some pretty good food for you.
Thanks for your service. God bless. (Applause.)

President George W. Bush meets with Congressmen at the White House Monday, April 30, 2001 - WHITE HOUSE PHOTO BY PAUL MORSE
Hey hey hey. She's not the former First Lady. As far as I'm concerned she's always going to be the First Lady. Certainly as long as Michelle is in the White House.
Very refreshing.
Years from now Obama and Bush die of old age only a second apart.
They arrive at the Pearly Gates. Obama died only one second before W so he is ahead in line.
St. Peter says to Obama, Here are your robes of silk and your staff of gold. Welcome to Heaven.
W steps up next. St. Peter says to Bush, Here are your robes of cotton and your staff of wood. Welcome to Heaven.
George asks, St. Peter, he gets silk and gold? And I get cotton and wood?
St. Peter says, George, while you were President, the people slept. While Obama was President the people prayed. The Lord rewards results.
Thank you. I miss them both. In more ways than I can count.
But I really miss rubbing that fact into other peoples faces.

I think you’ll like this thread
As inept as I thought Bush was on most issues, this Obama character makes him look like the greatest President. When Obama gets done, the Bush years will be the glory days.
Thank you for this thread. I am going off to bed now trying to pretend that GWB is still our president. Maybe I will be able to sleep. I know he received a lot of heat at the end of his presidency, but I still love him as well as a very classy first lady.
Thank you for the picture presentation and a Happy Easter to you and your family./Just Asking - seoul62.....
