A Month in the Life of George W Bush (news and photos): April 2009

As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.

The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.

At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.

First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.

I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

He's got great color in his face, too! Good going DAD!!!! Yeah!!!!

Antibiotics can make you feel REALLY spacey too. Please tell him that from me - they aren't easy to take and feel 100% yourself. He's doing SOOO well! He's an answer to our prayers!

Hanging in there. Lots of ups and downs lately.

I got laid off from subbing because the state budget in AZ is such a mess. Hubby’s dad died just a few days after that. Then my dad has been in and out of surgery in an effort to catch up with Elizabeth Taylor. Then my daughter broke her right arm and leg, so it has been just a hoot over the past 2 1/2 months.

Ooooo...that looks really good. I have never had either
roast goose or Yorkshire pudding. I really need to find
a place that makes it and try it!

I can see your bottle of “golden syrup” in the 2nd picture.
Do you eat it with Yorkshire pudding? (I really don’t know! LOL)

Some people eat golden syrup with cold Yorkshire Pudding if there is some left over.

Years ago when budgets were tighter large families would make more Yorkshire Pudding than required and then eat it with jam or syrup at tea time as a treat.

Nowadays though Yorkshire tends to be eaten with a hot meal with gravy and many people would not even have heard of the jam or syrup with cold Yorkshire.
