As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.
The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.
At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.
First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.
I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Thank you for those pictures. I remember when our leadership had class and character. Seems so long ago
As inept as I thought Bush was on most issues, this Obama character makes him look like the greatest President. When Obama gets done, the Bush years will be the glory days.
Irreplaceable ..... and pure goodness.
Thank you, thank you, Snugs!!!!! You are the best! Sanity Island, indeed.
Can you please add me to any ping list for these posts? Thank you again for all of your hard work.
The glow of Christian femininity radiates from a woman even if she is plain of appearance. This makes the plainest woman attractive.
There is nothing like that transformed glow of Christian joy, but holy Jewish women who love and are loved by the Lord have this light of sweetness and joy about them too, of course. This makes them so much more lovely than they would otherwise be. It also explains how it is that we can look at portraits of women painted in previous years and say, "Hm, everything written about her testifies that she was a great beauty but I don't see it." Well, the beauty came from her sweet mind.
I have to apologize for that embarrassing excuse for a president that no 44 has become.
I did not vote for the git!
How's your dad?
This is a wonderful (and much needed) Dose.
Hi, Jonny!
Hi Snugs/Eleanor...Thanks much!
Count me as one who wants to apologize to England for Oaf of office that obama is...truely shameful and scary and clueless he is...Grade F # 44... What a class hole!
Hello Luvee!:) Great Couple!! Great Photo!!
Thanks for the Precious Pair, pic ping!:)

UPDATE: Pool reporter Richard Wolf of USA Today says that an Obama aide told him the President also gave the Queen a "rare songbook signed by Richard Rodgers". END UPDATE

If this is true, then I do not have a problem with the gift. However if the songs were indeed on the Ipod it only proves how tacky these two are.
(Hope it hasn't already been posted
...but, if so, it bears repeating! LOL!
Oh my,that sure is a pretty swetter color!

G.W. BUSH TO TOSS RANGERS’ FIRST PITCH
Forty-third president accepts invitation of club he once partially owned
By T.R. Sullivan / MLB.com
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Former President George W. Bush has accepted the Rangers’ invitation to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the club’s home opener on Monday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Rangers owner Tom Hicks and club president Nolan Ryan invited Bush to throw out the ceremonial pitch earlier this spring, and he has confirmed his appearance. Bush, who served two terms as president, will be making his first appearance at the Ballpark in Arlington since he was Governor of Texas in 2000.

FORMER AIDES COME TO GEORGE W BUSH’S DEFENSE
March 28, 2009 01:11 PM ET
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers
They knew the dissing of W was coming, since both presidential candidates used former President Bush as a punching bag last year. So when Barack Obama took over, some Bushies vowed to play defense when W’s record was maligned. Thus was born http://www.43alumni.com, an online community of former Bush team members. “In the age of Facebook,” says Bush spokesman Rob Saliterman, “it made sense to create the page to stay in touch with each other.” Besides networking, 43alumni will be countering stories about Bush that his team feels are unfair. A section called Setting the Record Straight, says Saliterman, “will be responding to misleading and inaccurate comments about the president’s record.” The site is still under construction but will be up and running by summer. It will be funded with dues paid by Bushies.
[We must become involved with this site when it becomes functional!]
