I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.
I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.
If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.
And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

I knew that some SPAM LDS troll set me up and lied to the mods last week, was discovered and got banned. This "spam" website and these dirty tricks don't surprise me in the least.
They destroy families on a regular basis.
They keep calling us Anti-Mormons and bigots and hateful when we post referenced quotes by their own founders. More than anything, this should show to the world their level of brainwashing. Freerepublic, Christians, nor anyone else should ever bow to bullying over the keeping of LDS secrets.
....And for the record, I will be multiplying my last donation by 5 at the next freepathon.

In the face of this nonsense, let us not forget that some of FR’s greatest efforts have come from Mormons (Jeff Head comes immediately to mind).
Anti-freepers as a group have failed to make any positive mark on this world, and I suspect that this current group will wither as most of the previous ones have.
When you make your life about what you hate, rather than what you love, what do you have left to stand on?

As a former Mormon I must say that such behavior goes against the grain of the faith. Tolerance of other Christian religions and the following arguments are to be embraced; it is a chance to give ones own testimony. On a forum you speak to many readers; your words may strike others in a favorable way.
I have never liked the ad hominem arguments against any religion; if your beliefs cannot be well supported you need to study more, not engage in personal attacks.
I’ll keep my eyes and ears open; if I learn anything I’ll let you know.
