I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.
I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.
If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.
And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?
God bless.
Tell that to those who are planning to disrupt FR. Did you not read the thread?
Are you trying to provoke Anti_Freeper Mormons?
I looked over there, but didn’t see an actual list. Is there one?
I am a Mormon, and have just seen that website you linked to for the first time. It looks like someone is just collecting anti-Mormon postings, and linking to possible responses. I don’t see anything on that site that talks about “disrupting.” Have you gotten some other information about disruption?
I get as mad as anyone about the garbage that gets posted on FR about my religion. Other religions get attacked, too. There are some ugly anti-Catholic threads. It has always seemed a stupid way to cause disruption, when we should be looking at what we have in common and working together
I communicate with other Mormon Freepers about the stuff on FR, and, to be truthful, I decided to donate elsewhere when the anti-Mormon stuff became so persistent. But I’ve never heard anything about attempts to disrupt. I think I would have heard. Are you sure this information is reliable?
If not, this thread will only whip up more anti-Mormon sentiment.
Agreed they took heat but it's not because of FR. The admin and religion mods have tried to keep the crazy kooks who hate Mormons in line. There are about 3-4 who are absolutely insane with their hated of Mormons. I have no idea why.
I cannot understand why they would blame that on FR. I always had alot of respect for Mormons, having had a few friends of that religious persuasion and I'm surprised and disappointed they would be so vindictive.
You’re so right. And I’m guilty also. Thanks for the reminder.
I can't believe these people are any FReepers except those demanding we support Romney, and calling us bigots if we didn't. FTR I had NO objections to Romney as a Mormon, my objections were based solely on experience as a MA citizen during his governorship, and see what policies he put in place have done for(?) MA. I am dead set against those same things going nationwide.
Whoo hoo!! I’m on the “The list of known Mormon-haters on FreeRepublic.com” list, too!!!!
Whoever is involved with that site needs to get a grip. They clearly have too much time on their hands.
The perpetually offended......
>> Here is the link to the open site in question
Good night, could he make that page any more UNREADABLE??!?
This F.R.A.M. thing is related to that S.P.A.M. thing. Might be the same “greg” dude on both.
Pretty amateurish, if you ask me. I bet it dries up and blows away on its own.
Theological differences do not equate to “hating Mormons”. If you come to FR to debate theology, you are expected to bring your best argument and present it. If you cannot defend your religious beliefs with biblical references and without getting hurt feelings, do not come to the theology threads.
It was, and still is, a very emotional time in our country, regarding politics. A lot of the issues are personal as well as being about country.
I don’t know if there is an actual “list” just a bunch of names in the various threads. Frankly it’s a rather boring site. DU, DailyKOS and the Huffington site all have better trash talk.

Holier Than Thou is built into all religions? What an odd thing to say. If you mean that they all think they’re right...well DUH! If that is your definition of the phrase, I would have to say that virtually all human groups have that built in. Republicans? Democrats? Mother’s Against Drunk Driving?
Why would you belong to a group (or believe in a religion) that you thought was wrong?
It is, SPAM set up the FRAM thing and it is the same Greg West behind both.
Do you know the facts of that case?
The main fact was she was careless and spilled hot coffee on herself.
The coffee I get at the local McD is hot enough to scald and the coffee I make at home is hot enough to scald. I try to be careful with it.
Sounds like you and her don’t believe in personal responsibility.Or you are a lawyer.
I'm envious, I'm on nobody's list anywhere!
Or needs to get a life.
The ironic thing for me was the Romney run itself. I did not care about the LDS until I saw what his supporters here were doing. Knew that there was something to it, then when the race was over and I had time to look at things beyond the political is when I found out a large part of the hows and whys of the concerted effort to push Mitt here...
You will find those names to be the screen name of Freepers, including me.
