I would think because during a press conference the ones by the podium would be distracting and obvious. And given the flak he’s gotten about it, he didn’t want it to be the center of attention.
I took it as a slap at Cuomo- the lead in to someone’s AIG question was Cuomo was out front and where was Obama?
Sorry, but I didn’t like it much. IMO, it was way below the first Craig Bond film.
At some point (and I think it's already happening) his friends in the press are going to turn on him.
Personally, I think some of those reporters should have started laughing at him as he tried to respond to their questions. What a lame-o!

Last night on another thread about TOTUS being “ tired ,” I posted some excerpts from UK media interviews with the TOTUS’s.
This guys spends more time wasting time than any president in history.

She gets angry with him and admonishes him to get out of her closet and do real work.
He took some buds on a minibus to the Interior Dept to play basketball for two hours.

TOTUS “ had fun.”
The totality of his sports tv watching each day has to be hours and hours.
Combine that with his meager daily schedule and all the parties and concerts.
Emanuel is the one in the Situation Room, sitting in the president’s chair-according to the veteran’s groups that went to the WH last week.
And CNN is NOT letting up!!!!
