He’s explaining to us that he’s okay morally and ethically with embryonic stem cell research.
The homeless are fine to acknowledge because they didn’t just become homeless since he was inaugurated. Their existence feeds into the “inherited” story they’re pushing.
He has nothing to lose by making things look awful this early in his administration—it adds to the sense that he has such overwhelming problems to deal with that even if things improve a little, he’s doing a good job.
I almost laughed when he said he wrestled with abortion—I think he has a perfect rating from NARAL.
