FAIRBANKS After months of rumbling, Alaskas Mount Redoubt volcano erupted three times late Sunday and early Monday.

It looks like the summit webicorder was destroyed.
I do suggest that people do not post the image of the webicorder, it constantly refreshes and is a pain for dial-ups, just the link to the AVO website, pretty soon we will get early dawn and hopefully some images.

I’ve been checking KTUU a lot, I’m gonna switch over to the other thread...I see you’re working pretty hard on this, so I’ll read over there and try to keep my stupid questions to a minimum. but for today, Wasilla is ok, right? Hmmm...wonder if recess will be inside today. And now that it’s after 7 am, it’s safe to call the kids!
thanks for all your info, see you on the other thread.
For now Wasilla is just on the edge, Swentna has a light dusting as being reported on KTUU, I turned it off a few minutes ago, tomorrow the wind will change direction according to their models, of course I have yet to ever see a reliable weather forecast in Alaska. My teenage son left for school a half hour ago, my girls will be leaving in a little while, and wifey takes off around noon, me I may finish off my 5th season of Hawaii 50, and I have a dentist appointment tuesday, another day in my life.
I wish we had some freepers from the Homer area here, I feel so friggin alone here at times.
OK, next year when I finish my degree, I'll find a social services job in that area (there's got to be lots of natives there, right?) and isn't there a great bar in Homer? (the things we learn about our 49th state on Disc/Hist/Travel channel are just amazing!)
Well I don’t think you will have a problem getting a job in any health care position, health care is pretty popular especially for Alaskan Natives. Native health care is massively funded by oil lease revenue funding, actually us white people are the minority in the bush and for the good jobs in the bush.
I have been up since yesterday evening, I am going to take a nap for awhile, will be back a few hours, cya.
I thought it was four times too!
I’m down on KGB Rd at mile 5 1/2. Nothing here. Surface wind looks to be picking but it’s the upper level winds that will effect us here.
My parents are down between Ninilchik and Anchor Point. They called yesterday. They got some pics last week when it the weather was clear and Redoubt was steaming. As of yesterday it was overcast and they could only see the base.
Pyroclastic, if I remember correctly, is a volcano that blows up, not just spewing lava but actually exploding. The pyroclastic flow them would be exploded rock, pumice and rock ash that settles over everything. I believe krakatoa(spelling?) and Mt. St. Helens produced Pyroclastic flow.
