WASHINGTON The Obama administration plans to send reinforcements to the Southwest border to help contain the rampant violence of the Mexican drug cartel wars.
Thirty-seven agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are being deployed to the region. An official familiar with the plan said the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency is considering reassignment of at least 90 officers to the border.
The official requested anonymity because the plan has not yet been announced.

You obviously expect one hell of a budget for ammo!
I’m talking about a real fence/wall like the Israeli one. Concrete, barbed wire, watch towers, guards.
Thank you for getting my point across. I would have been here for days trying to do what you did in a sec!
Ok boys and girls, lets get out our pencils. The US Mexican border is 2000 miles long. If the Pres_ent sends 37 ATF to the border, how many miles would each man have to patrol 24/7?
Maybe the Zeta’s are hiding behind women and children. F- Troop to the rescue!
All vets of the Elian Gonzalez, Ruby Ridge, and Waco happenings in the past.
Maybe the ATF is there to set up another Waco situation.
Let’s see, who can be the perpetrators in a possible gun-running scheme from the US into Mexico? Not that that is a significant source of the weaponry being used in places like Juarez, or anywhere in Mexico, for that matter. Daily shipments of full automatic and military grade ordnance are received from China, Venezuela and North Korea.
But say that there is a religious colony in the near location to El Paso, and they also happen to have a small stockpile of (legally purchased) sidearms. They will be surrounded and stormed as being the “source” of the illegal weaponry being used in Mexico. And how were they getting them into Mexico? Why, a tunnel under the Rio Grande, of course, a highly engineered avenue of exchange of illegal drugs for illegal weapons.
Doesn’t matter that the religious colony never so much as exchanged business cards with the Mexican drug cartels, the fact remains that they COULD have, and the attack on the compound will be launched.
Waco all over again.
No persecution in this country. Nosiree, Bob
Their job will be to harass and shut down legal FFL gun shops in the area.
The line has been drawn and it's time for people to decide which side they stand.
Lon Tomohisa Horiuchi will be brought down to kill some more American women and children. The real concern is that Texans might get ahold of some of the Paki built automatic weaponry that is flooding into Mexico.

The aim is to turn people into predictable variables in a closed programming simplicity. It is a methodical step-by-step approach where people are encouraged to play their roles in calculation of the next step.
Wow, 37 ATF agents? Problem solved!
I have no doubt that some weapons in Mexico come from here but it’s piecemeal. Wealthy drug lords aren’t going to waste time with handfulls of weapons when they can get them off container ships through mexican ports that they control.
Shoot all you want, we'll make more.
I thought the “story” was that our lax gun laws were causing the violence across the border? At least that is what I heard from the boob tube.
Because they don’t intend to arrest any Mexicans. The ATF is going down there to try to catch Americans breaking some gun law or another. Watch and see.
and notice how many he is sending. 37. That will cover 100 yards or so of the border. If he was serious he would send the military, and a large number of them.
A fence is worthless unless actively defended. The purpose of the fence is to not give violators an excuse that they didn't know they should not cross, and to slow them down long enough to allow your people to do bad things to violators that will discourage them from trying to violate the fence again.
I don't see that ending well...
