Obama wants to charge disabled veterans for treatment at VA facilities

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.

As a retired Army sergeant, with a VA disability from being wounded in Vietnam, this is absolutely BULL SHIT!!! Excuse my french. The damned GOVERNMENT sent me to Vietnam. I was damaged because of it. THEY are responsible for my injuries, not me. This pisses me off over the moon. (sorry ladies for the language, but this is over the moon too me.) I am sending my congress critter and senators an email right now.

Well... it is change and change is what the American voter wanted. Elections have consequences. I saw more than one vehicle with a “Veterans for obama” bumpersticker.

P.S. This new VA secretary is an ex-general who was sent packing after his big mouth got him into trouble with Rumsfeld. This guy is an ass hole. There is a story on him in the latest Disabled Veteran magazine. Everything I read on the ass hole screamed another damned WESLEY CLARK!!!

If you have a service-connected condition, the VA treats you free of charge for the condition for the rest of your life. If you have no means to pay for a non-service connected condition, the VA pays. If you are a non-service connected veteran with health insurance, you still get the higher quality medical care at the VA hospital but your insurance pays for it. This is as it should be.
