Newsflash: Wonderboy Treasury Secretary is in over his head

They said he was uniquely qualified. A wunderkind. The Man with the Plan. Too big to fail.

Now we learn from the on-the-ball MSM that tax cheat Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner is flailing about and in over his head.

Who’s shocked?

For five weeks, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has battled the worst economic crisis in generations with no key deputies in place. That’s made for a rocky debut for the man President Barack Obama put in charge of addressing the financial crisis.

With an awkward first television appearance, a bank rescue plan that lacked promised specifics and two restructured bailouts that raised taxpayer risk, Geithner has failed to calm financial markets desperate for answers.

Critics say part of the problem is that Geithner is flying solo: Not one of his top 17 deputies has been named, let alone confirmed. And without senior leadership, lower-level Treasury employees can’t make decisions or represent the government in crucial conversations with banks and others.

...the tax cheat is assailing oil and gas companies for taking advantage of tax loopholes.

"U.S. oil and natural gas producing companies should not receive federal subsidies in the form of tax breaks because their businesses contribute to global warming" U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told Congress on Wednesday.

This sophomoric rhetoric is probably why he is considered so 'smart' by the Obama camp. Sounds like he's more suited for Energy Czar than Treas. Sec. Actually Energy Czar may be a bit of a stretch - how about the guy in the dorm rap session that is philosophizing about 'how bad corporate Amerika is.'

It’s not just Geithner... the entire Administration, staring with the Chief Executive, has no idea what they’re doing. The only thing they know how to do is campaign, and thus we see Obama at town hall type meetings, and Emmanuel attacking Rush Limbaugh.

I guess it WAS true when they said that his campaign for president was experience for being president -- if being president means being in constant campaign mode.

They know exactly what they are doing. Dems want as much economic chaos as they can create right now to ram through as much legislation and earmarks that increases their power while the general public is scrambling to deal with all the blows they’ve been hit with.
The more economic suffering, the more “New Deal” programs Obama and dem majority congress will ram through.
Carbon cap & trade, universal healthcare, continued bailouts for FHA, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae, funding for increases in government, state, and private unions and forced unionization in other public and private sectors, ACORN, hijacking of the census so they can rewrite districts to increase democratic power. While at same time gutting the military, and increasing taxes on the wealthy, middle-class, and business.

They’re all over their heads. It was obvious during the campaign that Zero was a rank amateur.

I keep coming back to this conclusion. People on this board and talk radio callers keep crediting Obama with some grand scheme to destroy the country, but I honestly think he just has absolutely no clue what he is doing. If he did, he at least would be smarter about how he was trying to bankrupt the nation so that the MSM would not notice. I think that he is just a radical liberal (IOW, a Marxist) who is trying to implement liberal policies that have been proven to fail every time they are tried.

I fear you may be right. They want to cram as much legislation as they can, as quickly as they can. They don't want to let the public know what they are really doing.

To hell with the consequences.

Remember Obama's tenure as Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge...? Millions and millions of dollars wasted. And for what...? Nothing.

It'll be same kind of incompetence here. Only on a far bigger scale.

""U.S. oil and natural gas producing companies should not receive federal subsidies in the form of tax breaks "

This is the same rhetoric The Obammunist used on his campaign web site: "IRAs right now are getting a subsidy on the tax deferral."

"If you are rich enough to pay income taxes, you are being subsidized."

"All of your income should come from the government."

“They know exactly what they are doing. Dems want as much economic chaos as they can create right now to ram through as much legislation and earmarks that increases their power while the general public is scrambling to deal with all the blows they’ve been hit with.”

This I agree with.

Anyone who has had some experience with Marxist-socialists, or has ever read Lenin or MaoZeDong, knows that their ideology includes the concept of dragging everything through a chaotic state.

“Order out of Chaos” is a very direct Maoist principle, deliberately applied in “The Great Leap Forward” and the “Cultural Revolution” in China.

They don't care who it hurts, maims, kills, bankrupts, or shames.

I don't care how many times Mr. Limbaugh and other conservatives criticize the idea of conspiracies, which I have him heard them do on numerous occasions, history is replete with conspiracies. The Bible, containing true historical excerpts, illustrates conspiracy after conspiracy.

This destruction of the U.S. financial system is as deliberate as was told out in the Canada Free Press this week.

Yes, as deluded and immoral as they are, and even with the imbecilic nature in many of them, they know what they are doing.

Bingo!

People keep making the mistake that they are trying to make things work! They’re trying to destroy to justify nationalizing everything. By the time America starts waking up to what’s been done, it will be all over. USSA here we come.

The currrent chaos is a once in a generation chance to ram through as much pro-democrat pork and growth as they can.
This is the perfect storm for them. Clueless new president with marxist tendancies who is completely unqualified for the job, dem controled congress acting like drunken sailors in a whorehouse with the power they have, a MSM that will always be in the tank for them, and a worldwide economic crisis. For the dems, its a modern day version of a Caligula orgy.

You already got a taste of whats to come with Obama claiming its going to be a “global new deal” and that America and the EU will function as one economic entity under the same set of rules and policies. Its already starting. You heard it from the UK prime minister this week in his speech in DC.

The reason the 17 Deputies have not been named is that it is almost impossible to find people with the right qualifications. It is difficult to find highly competent and dedicated professionals who are also notorious tax cheats. But it would not do to install anybody under Geithner that is conspicuously more honest than he is.

So you see Obama’s problem here...
