If it hadn't been for our former hyphenated-conservative President, Tommey would have beaten Specter in '04.

Don't forget Rick Santorum in that.

Unfortunately, I don't think Pat can win in this economy. I know that a couple of the guys who bankrolled his run last time are really hurting in the downturn.

Maybe Pat could pick up some populist support due to Arlen's vote for the bailout?

p.s. I still haven't forgiven GWB or Rick Santorum for their support of "not proven" Specter.

He gets a little hype and attention this way..it’s good..and maybe encourages a few folks to kick in some $$<P.
If Toomey does run, and I hope he does, and the GOP sits it out, as they should, I look for Arlen to cross the aisle NOW is exchange for the Dem nomination. Rendell will cut a deal...

I could never forget it. I had thought Rick was one of us. Honest to God, I'll never again fully believe in a politician's integrity.

It was ironic that Specter didn’t return the favor and help Santorum. What goes around comes around.

“If Toomey runs, I’ll send money.”

Folks, we ALL need to send money to worthy candidates that have a chance to unseat a RINO. This isn’t a state issue, it’s a national issue.

I am making a pledge right now that I will send money to ANY good conservative candidate that will go against a RINO.

Maybe ironic, but not unexpected. I don't think we have any doubt what Specter is made of.

The race for that Senate seat really did make me lose my stomach for politics. First Santorum supported Specter in the primary and then Steve Freind asked us to support Arlen in the general. It still makes me sick when I think of those two grown men whoring themselves to the Republican party.

I may just remain a registered Republican just so I can vote for him again in the primary. Specter will never get my vote. If he’s on the ballot in the general election in November ‘10 I will write in someone else.

This was why I stopped supporting Santorum. He betrayed us. Even now he sends me stuff and I reply the same way. “You should have supported Pat Toomey”

If Pat runs I will send him money.

Yes, hype and attention and money for the run. I can understand that; but it also indicates that if he were to win, he’d fence sit until the last minute. Fence sitters are notorious for selling their votes to highest bidders.

I sent money to him last time even as GWBush was working overtime to protect Specter. If the RNC works to support Specter this time, that ought to be the death rattle of the RNC.
