GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE NIGHTMARE
Old people are not dying fast enough for RINO Specter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZzDHzS_tKQ&feature=channel_page
And how old is Specter? He is not dying fast enough for the rest of us!
The old pos could show them the way it’s done, and we’d all be grateful.
Maybe I’m gonna be in the minority here but I’m not sure I disagree with Specter on this particular issue.
He said 27% of health care costs are incurred in the last few days or hours of life
He said no one should tell patients what terminal health care they can have.
But he said we could ask people to consider costs and consider living wills.
I feel pretty much the same way. I don’t want a million dollars to be spent to keep me alive in great pain for a few more days.
Hey Spector! be pro-active and show us how it’s done, you slit nose, turncoat whore.
>>You misrepresent what he is saying, completely! <<
I’ll watch it again.
I don’t see what the big deal is about this video. It is making a mountain out of a mole hill.
We’re going to have to put lifetime caps on Medicare spending...there is no other way around the problem.
The best thing to do would be to make the individual pay for their own health care, so that they have an incentive to be healthy and not just rely on the gov’t to fix them after years of abusing their bodies.
How many people survive EXPENSIVE medical procedures???
THIS SHOULD NOT BE UP TO GOVERMENT!!!!
>>You misrepresent what he is saying, completely! <<
I watched it again, cutting out the captions and just listening to what Spector actually said.
I think the caption are not accurate. He’s just saying that because its 27% of medical expenses come in the last few days - that without telling anyone what to do, we should ask people to consider living wills.
That seems perfectly reasonable - my wife has very clear instructions that if I am in great pain and will not live or if my mind is permanently gone, I don’t want them to go crazy dragging it out - just let me pass in peace. And certainly don’t bankrupt the family to give me a few extra days of pain.

That’s a different issue. He is talking about asking people who receive government benefits to consider the cost. I wish more people would do that.
Hey Specter....Is this your reaction to realizing you have no friends anymore? Who’d trust *you*?
>>NO that’s the next step
Obama is going to pull down Medicare to cover 50 and up <<
That’s a real issue but I don’t see where Spector says anything about that. And by the way it pains me to be defending him. But we already have enough real problems with him.
Are you asking the government to foot your healthcare bills?
Do you think it is a conservative position to force other people to pay for your medical bills?
Do you think that you have a right to force other people to pay your medical bills?
Isn't that socialism?
If you do think you have such a right, do you think it wise public policy that government should forgo basic preventative treatment for children that would affect their lifelong productivity to fund healthcare for the terminally ill?
Arlen Specter, was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma in 2005 and underwent a complete remission, has been once again diagnosed with the cancer. The recurrence of the lymphoma was detected in April during a routine health exam. Specter had not had any typical lymphoma symptoms and was surprised when it was once again diagnosed.
In 2005, Specter exhibited some typical symptoms before being diagnosed - enlarged lymph nodes and fevers - but this time exhibited no symptoms at all. A lack of symptoms, and the fact that the diagnosis was caught early, has led Specters oncologist, Dr. John Glick, to issue a highly optimistic prognosis for the Senator. It is believed that Specter will have a full remission as he did in 2005.
Specter is no stranger to health issues. In addition to his Hodgkins diagnosis in 2005, Specter battled a brain tumor twice in 1993 and 1996, and fully recovered from cardiac bypass surgery in 1998. In March 2008, Senator Specter published his memoir, Never Give In: Battling Cancer in the Senate in which he details his fight against his lymphoma as well as his perseverance amidst incredible odds.
He’s 80 years old. Stop wasting out tax dollars and die you damn bastard.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE UP TO GOVERMENT
Correct, the costs of health care (or death care) should not be borne by the taxpayers, they should be borne by the individuals. If they want it and they can afford it, let them spend millions to extend their lives a few more days or hours. If they can’t afford it, well that’s how the marketplace works. No Government Rationing. Let the Market Decide.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE UP TO GOVERMENT!!!!
