Murdoch was publicly pretty comfortable with Obama before the election.

Mindful of the general malaise and fully cognizant of the depressed climate everywhere,
The Sun will be assisting the transition to our brave new world and helping to lift spirits by printing tasteful pictures of topless babes on both pages 3 and 5 of all future issues.
Thank you, Rupert.

This is indeed a critical time in our nation’s history.
However, this particular headline is Drudge excerpting a quote out of context. Murdock’s written a memo to NewsCorp employees that essentially says competitors are extraordinarily stressed by the economic situation and cutting back, but NewsCorp is going to use it’s deep pockets to continue to improve its position in the market. Murdock’s quote has more to do with his company’s strategy than the future of the world.

> "where others might step back from their commitment to their viewers, their users, readers and customers we will renew ours" Unless, of course, a bunch of rabble-rousers misinterpret a CARTOON in the NY Post. Then, we'll cave in to popular misunderstanding and issue a retraction:
By RUPERT MURDOCH
February 24, 2009 As the Chairman of the New York Post, I am ultimately responsible for what is printed in its pages. The buck stops with me.
Last week, we made a mistake. We ran a cartoon that offended many people. Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted.
Over the past couple of days, I have spoken to a number of people and I now better understand the hurt this cartoon has caused. At the same time, I have had conversations with Post editors about the situation and I can assure you - without a doubt - that the only intent of that cartoon was to mock a badly written piece of legislation. It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such.
We all hold the readers of the New York Post in high regard and I promise you that we will seek to be more attuned to the sensitivities of our community.

I at first thought he meant civil wars and such. That will come. Obama is not the worst of what I fear if he and Congress dont shape up.
