Last night the Hannity Show said that the dems are discussing a new MILEAGE TAX on how many miles we drive.

“I do note, there is not a peep from Sierra Club or other enviro groups on this.”
Hussein fan club.
Translated “the ticket is in the mail” lol
cheer up you wont need to do that....they want to put GPS on your vehicle.....
>>The tax is per mile, so it depends on how many miles you drive, and not the kind of car you drive. Those in Red Repub Voting areas have a longer commute for jobs, but also for groceries, school activities and general car use.<<
That’s true but people who drive more miles already pay more gas taxes since the tax is per gallon.
But right now, people with high efficiency cars get a break because of better gas mileage. That will go away under the new plan.
Who will be organizing protests against this?
Everyone needs to watch the movie Demolition Man.
yes I do all that through the mail. they send me a little sticker I put on my license plate. You’re thinking the feds are going to make people go into their local license plate renewal place and a guy goes out and inspects your car to make sure you have the mileage device? Seems that would be hard for them to implement.
We don’t have brake tag renewal in Alabama. In the old days in Louisiana they had vehicle inspections where I could see them checking for the mileage checker.
On top of this, they would probably make you pay the $250 for GPS installation, per car. Why not, my great state is thinking about imposing a $10.00 fee to submit your income tax return.
Anyone who thinks that’s NOT the case is whistling past the graveyard.
All they have to do is send a letter requiring proof that it has been installed by their certified mechanics, before you get that sticker. So if you think you can slide, then you are only fooling yourself.
It may take a couple of years to implement, and only three states at present are working on making it a state tax...so it’s just a discussion now. Watch for it to show up later.
I’ll do that.
The Tea Party is in protest to the housing bailout for those who can’t pay the mortgage, but are current now.. which makes no sense. So after that the Revolution may be on, so EXCESSIVE TAXES like this one should be mentioned...it isn’t implemented yet, but three states are discussing it as state tax.
Most of Obama’s supporters drive less than five miles a day.
Evrything you decribe is currently in use, exacly as you describe it - trucking companies, among others, use it.
In some cases they even monitor engine performance live, and adjust parameters based on terrain, etc.
My point in posting this!
That is the case with most states. MA gov proposed this before LaHood did, so MA could be facing these per miles taxes from state and fed. And it is because like the nation, the state is governed by on huge city, with a lot of smaller mini cities going along with their plans. But by and large, Boston runs everything for the rest of the state. MA residents have had taxation without representation for years.
No, they see themselves as just as much in charge as their overlords are.
Well, a lot of these people with degrees of course know and understand mostly theory, which is what education is built on today.
