Interesting. It seems highly likely he is dead, so they are either trying to force hamas to admit it or simply putting a condition they know cannot be met.
To which Bibi and/or Avigdor will later say, "Nor did anyone say we would after his release, either."

Sadly I can’t help but think since we’ve seen no tapes of him, or any other proof that he’s alive, that he is dead. I can’t believe they would pass up the propaganda opportunity this soldier would offer.
Prayers for him, his family and for his country.
Come on, Israel, finish off Hamas. It (Hamas) will never act in god faith re: any agreements with Israel.
That’s beautiful. Hamas finally suffers for their policy of immediately killing their hostages (while “negotiating” for their release, anyway).
The Israeli government has already agreed to a ceasefire and a pullout. So why should Hamas be impressed by this statement? They got what the wanted, without any real commitment on their side.

Who is Olmert trying to kid? I never believed Shalit was alive, after Hamas captured him.
