I continue to be amazed at all the Freepers who continue to hope against all hope that this won’t pass. It was done - over a week ago.

“I have no clue. I don’t think anyone else does either short of 50 million people going to DC and camping out there.”

Sounds good to me. I’m tent ready.

Do we really know what's in the final version?

No we don't, and neither do most of them---if not all of them.

It's no surprise that the won't reveal what is in it to the public, and neither is it that they will push this through with out even knowing what is in it themselves.

They froze the Republicans out and blame them for not being bi partisan.

Can't the Republicans play these games? They absolutely SUCK at gumming up the works, i.e., using the rules at their disposal.

They should be able to make (call?) a point of order here. Ask the presiding chair if the House Rule yadda, yadda, is in effect. Ask the chair to rule the early vote, prior to the 48 hour rule out of order. Have the Sargent-at-Arms enforce the rule.

I know very, very little about this, but even this little dab would help. Senator Sheets in the Senate can tie the place in knots if he wants to, because he knows what the rules of the place are, and he uses them. Can't our guys just freakin' learn to use the rules in a similar fashion?

The whole entire lot of these guys ain't worth a pot to pi$$ in!

“I wonder if that is where the “15 House Republicans” report comes from. (wish wish)”

Won’t happen until after 8pm tomorrow night. Sounds like Pelosi and Reid aren’t talking to each other any more. They both keep putting out conflicting information.

I remember a time, in early 2007, where the House Republicans used procedural maneuvers to slow the house to a crawl and the Dems were begging them to stop. It would be a good time for something like that now.

I don’t think the cowards are taking calls ,fax or email.

I think a lot of the House Rep's and maybe the House Dem's are. You never know until you try.

There’s This Turd!!!

http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/02/rep_anh_joseph_cao_may_be_one.html

(snip)

“WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao, R-New Orleans, said Wednesday he is likely to vote for the economic stimulus bill when it comes to a vote, probably today or Friday, even if he is the only Republican member of the House to do so.

“I’m voting along what my conscience dictates and the needs of the 2nd Congressional District dictate, even if I were to be the only member of the GOP to vote for the stimulus package, “ he said.

“Even though it is going to be a humongous bill, even though we will be in debt for years, I believe that more likely than not, I will vote for it because the 2nd Congressional District needs a stimulus package.”

“”The GOP leadership, they fully understand my situation and the needs of my district, “ he said.

Scalise, the assistant Republican whip, laughed when asked whether it was his responsibility to keep Cao in line, adding that a few Republican defections are to be expected.

Joked Cao, “Steve Scalise doesn’t know kung fu. I know kung fu. He can’t whip me.”

So after reading all the comments, it appears there is no time to call, fax, email if the bill is going to be rushed through. The Republicans can leave so there is no quorum. Or we can set up a tent city in DC in protest. Yikes—anyone have any more ideas?

Thank you

I've contacted Kit Bond, no response but I see he voted NO.

McCaskill, waste of time but I had the pleasure of telling her what I thought of this socialist pork bill. Her staffers probably trashed it.

I happened to catch a few seconds of CNN this afternoon...a Dem Congressman was whining to the host how he was just sick over this bill. I got my hopes up until he said he was so disgusted that there just wasn’t enough money in it—especially for education.

--------"Won’t happen until after 8pm tomorrow night. Sounds like Pelosi and Reid aren’t talking to each other any more. They both keep putting out conflicting information."----------

According to the article,

The following statement was released by Majority Leader Steny Hoyer at 4:57 p.m.:

"The House is scheduled to meet at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow and is expected to proceed directly to consideration of the American Recovery and Reinvestment conference report. The conference report text will be filed this evening, giving members enough time to review the conference report before voting on it tomorrow afternoon."

So, I guess the Dem's are meeting at 9 am and have a vote planned for tomorrow afternoon. Well, shewdoggies, that ought to be enough time to catch up on all the modifications! /s

What did any one expect? These guys are even more brazen than the Bush administration in pushing passage of the first of these pork bills.

As of about an hour ago, The Dim Senators and Dim Congress Critters can't come to agreement on the repackaged pork bill.

I here it's just not enough pork grinds in it for Pelooosi!

Oink Oink.

And I’m not talking about the “cliff notes” their aides gave them.
