Just spoke with someone in one of Senator Specter's PA offices. I told him what an outrage it is that this is being rushed through, and why not let it wait a week so the American people can see what's in it. He kept directing me "to the website".
I asked him if Specter is planning on running in two years and he said yes. I then told him that he'll get one less vote this time around and that my vote will be going to a conservative like Pat Toomey in the primary.
Finally I said Specter is going to get blown out of the sand in the primary.
He seemed a little taken aback, which made me feel good.
He said he'd "pass my comment on to Senator Specter"
Good for you! As I understand it, Specter is only listening to folks from Pennsylvania. I hope all the PA FReepers will follow your example.

It completely sucks that these RINO traitors claim they will only listen to their state’s constituents when their actions will affect citizens in every state. What cowards they are.

When you call, use *67 before you dial the number. It blocks called ID. Then just pick a town in PA and say you are from there....
I just gave them an earful too! The guy on the phone said he doesn’t support the bill and couldn’t give me a good reason to explain why Specter is supporting it!!!

Specter has supported the new Communists Party. He needs to be kicked out of the party.
Specter does not even listen to conservative Pennsylvanians. Rather, he harangues us as “far right.” He does not conceal his loathing for real conservatives, particularly social conservatives (religious most especially), but proclaims it openly and proudly. I think that trying to get him to shift, is barking up the wrong tree. About as vain as leftwingers going to old Jesse Helms, looking for his vote. Do what you can to help out Specter’s primary opponent in 2010. There is no reforming this recalcitrant foe; there is only defeating him at the election.
I wrote back:
Senator, you represent the great state of Pennsylvania and cast very important votes to further issues important to your constituents. Your vote, however, has very real consequences for 300 million Americans.
You know this so quit acting like you do not represent all Americans by extension of your actions.
You and 535 other representatives in Washington steer this nation.
I ask that you consider the amount of attention you are receiving from other states and respectfully implore you VOTE NO on THE STIMULUS BILL.
