Specter does not even listen to conservative Pennsylvanians. Rather, he harangues us as “far right.” He does not conceal his loathing for real conservatives, particularly social conservatives (religious most especially), but proclaims it openly and proudly. I think that trying to get him to shift, is barking up the wrong tree. About as vain as leftwingers going to old Jesse Helms, looking for his vote. Do what you can to help out Specter’s primary opponent in 2010. There is no reforming this recalcitrant foe; there is only defeating him at the election.
