Air France crash: plane may have broken up in mid-air

The vast area over which debris has been found suggested there was an explosion while the aircraft was in flight.
Unnamed experts quoted by the Le Monde newspaper said the “wide dispersion of wreckage discovered suggests that the Airbus (A330-200) exploded at high altitude”.
Terrorism has not been ruled out but they said the most likely scenario was that the break-up was caused by massive depressurisation inside the plane.

It’s starting to appear that the plane exploded in mid air. A brand new, state-of-the-art plane doesn’t just explode on its own. Everyone is afraid to say the “T” word.

I'll defer to anyone with more recent experience if I'm blowing smoke on this, but as an ex-aerospace engineer, I call that line of wordsmithing absolute BS.
Depressurization (at least they could spell it properly) typically RESULTS after a hull failure, window or door loss, but the only cause I can think of for a sudden and catastrophic break up of an aircraft is OVERPRESSURE.
Such as an explosive device going off.
(And don't even bother with "the lightning strike caused it" meme: Been in an aircraft that was struck by lightning and never caused an explosion, even when we were packing a load of bombs.)
While British POLS seem to have the IQ of toadstools, I'm thinking the Royal MArines and the boys from Hereford (SAS) have been brainstorming this with MI5 and MI6 for a very long time. I'll bet they've got operations in motion to stop any such attack.
Don't know if you remember the TM thread but a few years ago some freepers had a discussion about the potential order of operations for commencement of low level attacks on our home soil. I think it was me, judicial meanz, Old Sarge, Mossad1967 and maybe Border Enforcer batting this around.
We sort of came to the conclusion that there could be three or four levels of terror operative looking to commence hostilities.
FIRST, there might be the organized cells with specific targets. The cell will have trigger pullers, support personnel to establish safe houses, documents etc and probably recon and security types. These are the folks who will have the WMD assets and be looking to score multiple 911's but oh so much worse than the original.
SECOND there would be trained terrorists with knowledge of fieldcraft but here as sleepers. They may have been here for years. They may have been assigned specific targets or they may have been given an array of potential targets to strike under a given codeword ("GO" CODE).
THIRD would be the random trigger pullers smuggled across the Mexican border since 911. They will be dedicated Jihadis but probably limited in education and salable civilian skills. They may settle into areas with high latino populations since the two at least superficially bear a resemblance to each other in physical features. They will secure typical illegal immigrant jobs and wait to strike. These would be the ones most likely to snap and go into sudden Jihadi syndrome as may have been demonstrated in the past perhaps in this most recent recruiter murder. However, there is no telling how many of these will remain dedicated to their original objectives and how many might succumb to the allure of the American lifestyle and simply move from the mission to the dream. OTOH, there is also no telling how many of the dedicated moles will stay on task and may even recruit new members to the cause, especially if arrested for other offenses and forced to move into the correctional system.
That very correctional system would provide the last and FOURTH wave of a much larger and coordinated plan. The converted are still criminals and now it's like they have a license to kill in the name of their pagan god (lower case deliberate) which they will embrace.
Spinning out of control? Vel, if this works as I've laid it out here, this country could sink into a cauldron of random violence balanced by targeted attacks and give a distinct resemblance to WWII Europe, in the worst way.
Worse, how will this administration react and against whom?

Bomb threat on Air France flight

Security personnel at Buenos Aires-Ezeiza airport in Argentina delayed an Air France flight this evening before departing for Paris immediately after the company received a bomb threat over the phone at the airport offices.
The Argentine Federal Police, along the Firemen’s direction and the Airport’s Security proceeded to inspect the plane, that had arrived this morning from the French city and, after a brief stop, was preparing to return.
The routine procedure lasted approximately an hour and a half and, as sources of the airport reported, all the passengers are ok and they were not evacuated from the plane.
From what I'm reading, your assessment of the cause of overpressure...seems increasingly likely.

His prediction was terrifying, including talk of impending chaos in the US.

They have agents operating in Japan in significant numbers, too. In the past, North Korea gave veiled references and threats to unleashing a WMD attack on specific US military bases in Japan, if not in downtown Tokyo towards Japanese civilians.
This could in fact take the form of a suitcase nuke, which for all intents and purposes could a) already be in Japan, and b) would have the necessary delivery system/infrastructure (agents of Chongryon or other infiltrated agents), to do the deed.
In fact I have noticed a considerably high presence of Japanese police and security personnel at various Japanese train stations and bullet train stops these days. Who knows what for.

China will move in with its partners(probably Russia) to restore order. S. Korea and U.S. may be invited in to make it an international efforts.
China will try to defacto puppet regime in Pyongyang, and pressure other countries to accept the deal. This would make S. Koreans really unhappy. However, erstwhile pinkos, who railed against U.S. Imperialism on Korean Peninsula and so big on nationalism and Korea’s victimhood under American ‘boot,’ would embrace it as a ‘reasonable and practical solution.’
They would never have been reasonable to Americans but things would be different with China. Selling out nationalism and victimhood for pro-Chicom stance. Anti-Americanism at all costs, which could erode their support among general population.
China, after installing a puppet regime, would go about buying off N. Korean population with more food and better economy. They will try to gain access to key strategic locations(ports along E. Sea (Sea of Japan).)
Security hawk will prevail in Japan now that China advances into Korean Peninsula. They will seriously rearm and could go nuclear, which would worry China. Concern for S. Korea and Japan going nuclear would be a great mitigating factor for China’s design for N. Korea.
If N. Korea would fall under China, even through a puppet regime, S. Korea and Japan would less rely on U.S. Japan could try to take S. Korea under its wing, which would be resisted by S. Koreans. This will give more motivation for S. Korea to go nuclear than Japan.
Russia would try to join the fray, dangling its natural gas and oil supply from Siberia and Sakhalin as a carrot. They have wanted a trans-Siberian shipping route from Japan, S. Korea to Europe. They want to increase their influence on Korean Peninsula this way.
All this hinges on the assumption that N. Korea can be taken over with no serious troubles. However, succession struggles degenerate into open confrontation, military confrontations between factions, or even further different faction chose different outside backer.
That is, one faction gets China’s support, another get S. Korea and U.S.. Then things get messy. Even if somebody takes over government, but government cannot function and chaos continues on the ground(no effective government control,) drastically different situation could emerge. It will get messy for all parties involved.

Police find suspected ricin in Everett home
The FBI said this afternoon that they have “a strong suspicion” that an Everett man had the deadly poison ricin in his home office, and a specially trained hazardous-materials team — including experts flown in today from Washington, D.C. — have locked down the home.
The situation began with a domestic-violence call to Everett police Monday and has grown into a substantial federal investigation.
An FBI spokeswoman said agents have no fear that the substance poses any risk to the public or to neighbors, and no one has been exposed or evacuated.
On Monday about 5 p.m., Everett police were called to the home at 1208 50th St. S.W. and found a bleeding 43-year-old woman in her front yard. They went inside and found her husband, 48, unresponsive with some kind of medical emergency, said Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz....

2 Charged After Gun Found On Plane
Flight 1195 Bound From Philadelphia To Phoenix
PHOENIX — The FBI has charged two men after investigators said Thursday the pair smuggled a gun onto an airplane at Philadelphia International Airport.
Flight 1195, bound for Phoenix, was delayed several hours.

U.S. Airways employee Roshid Milledge and passenger Damien Young have been charged with getting a concealed gun onto a departing plane.
Witnesses saw Milledge hand Young a bag at the gate right before he boarded.
Once investigators got wind of the exchange, they stopped the plane and took the passenger into custody.....
